Very Scarce U.S. Marine
Corps Colt Model 1905
Double Action Revolver
with Holster - Serial no.
69, 38 Long Colt cal.,
6 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut
grips. This is one of
approximately 850 of
these Colt Model 1905 revolvers purchased by the U.S. Marine Corps between 1905
and 1909. Many of these revolvers saw use with Marines in Panama as well as the Cuban
landings. The butt is marked with the number “No/69” in front of the lanyard swivel and “U.S./M.C.”
behind it. The top of the barrel has the two-line Hartford address above “PATENTED AUG.5.1884
NOV.6.88. MAR.5.95”, with “COLT. D.A. 38” on the left side. A circled Rampant Colt is stamped on
the left rear of the frame above the grip. The number “69” is repeated on the inside of the frame,
crane and cylinder latch, as well as handwritten on the interiors of the checkered walnut grips.
Cylinder marked with number “269” on the rear. Small star surrounding “W” inspection marks are
located on the bottom of the barrel and rear of the cylinder. The trigger and hammer top have
a niter blue finish, and the sides of the hammer are polished. The ejector rod
and lanyard swivel are casehardened. Includes a Eubanks Boise, Idaho brown
leather commercial type holster.
CONDITION: Fine as Marine Corps issued, retains 50% faded original blue
finish with scattered flaking and edge wear showing smooth gray and
brown patina on the exposed surfaces indicative of exposure to jungle
climate, and 30% original niter blue finish remaining on the hammer and
trigger. Grips are very good with some light handling marks and mostly
defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good.

1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 1263492, 45
ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips.
Manufactured in late 1944. Features fixed blade front
and notch rear sights, blued barrel with “P” and “HS” (High
Standard) marked on the recoil lug, standard Ithaca address roll marked on the left side
of the slide with “P” proof on top, checkered short trigger, narrow hammer, and magazine
release, along with serrated slide catch, thumb safety, and arched mainspring housing
with lanyard loop. The left side of the frame bears a “FJA” (Lt. Col. Frank J. Atwood) inspector mark along
with “P”, while the right side bears the U.S. property and model markings, serial number, and “7” on the
trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of Keyes Fibre Co. “star/K” checkered brown plastic grips and “L” marked
full blue magazine. Includes an extra magazine sealed in greased paper wrapper.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original parkerized finish
with some minor edge wear, brown patina showing on the front
grip strap, and limited minor handling marks. The grips are also
excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. 1083620, 45 ACP cal.,
5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips. In May
1942, the U.S. Ordnance placed an order with the Union
Switch & Signal Company for the manufacture of 200,000
Model 1911A1 pistols, an order which was later revised to 55,000
pistols. All 55,000 of these pistols were delivered throughout the course
of 1943, while World War II was still at its height. According to the table
on page 144 of “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols: 1920-1945” by Meadows,
this specific pistol falls within a shipment of 7,770 pistols (serial numbers
1,076,065 to 1,083,834) sent in August 1943. Features fixed blade front and
notch rear sights, parkerized barrel marked “P” and “HS” (High Standard) on
the recoil lug, checkered short stamped trigger,
magazine release, thumb safety, and wide spur
hammer, along with serrated slide catch and
arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop. The
left side of the slide bears the “USS” monogram
and manufacturers address. The left side of the
frame is marked with a circled “R.C.D.” (Robert
Downie) inspection mark, “P”, and an “AA” (Augusta Arsenal) rebuild stamp, while the right side
bears the U.S. property marking, serial number, and model designation. Fitted with a pair of
Keyes Fibre Co. “star/K” marked brown checkered plastic grips and “S” marked full-blue magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining 85% plus parkerized finish with minor
edge wear, Minor spotting with some faint pitting on the slide, softened proofs, light cycling
wear, and otherwise minor handling marks. The grips are fine with minor handling wear in the
otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 2235139,
45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic
grips. Manufactured in 1945, the last year of U.S. contract Model 1911A1
pistol production. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, blued barrel marked
“P” and “HS” (High Standard) on the recoil lug, checkered short stamped trigger, narrow
hammer, thumb safety, and magazine release button, with serrated slide stop and arched
mainspring housing with lanyard loop. The left side of the slide is marked with the correct third type
two-line “REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.” address and a “P” on top. The left side of the frame
is marked with “FJA” (Col. Frank J. Atwood) inspection and “P” proofs, with “7” on the trigger guard, while
the right side bears the U.S. property marking, serial number, and model designation, along with “4” on that
side of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of Keyes Fibre Co. brown checkered plastic grips marked “star/K”
on the interior and an unmarked blued magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original parkerized finish with some minor edge wear, scattered
minor spotting/freckling visible, and otherwise limited minor handling marks.
The grips are very fine with some minor handling marks in the otherwise crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.

World War I Canada Shipped Colt Government
Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter
- Serial no. C18929, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1915. Building off of
the success of their John M. Browning designed .45 caliber
semi-automatic pistol’s adoption by U.S. Ordnance as the Model 1911, Colt also offered
it as the Government Model for commercial and foreign sales as arguably the most
powerful semi-automatic pistol readily available at the time, making it a popular choice of
private purchased sidearm for Canadian and British officers by the outbreak of World War I. The
included factory letter confirms the pistol’s configuration, including a five inch barrel chambered
for .45 caliber, blue finish, and types of grips not listed when sent in a shipment of three to Thos.
Birkett and Son of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on August 13, 1915. Features fixed rounded top
blade front and square top notch rear sights, blued military replacement barrel with “P” on top
of the chamber hood, checkered slide stop, magazine release, thumb safety, and wide hammer,
along with a flat smooth mainspring housing and long smooth trigger. An importer mark is
found at the bottom of the grip frame. The left side of the slide bears the two-line, two-block address and
patent markings with uncircled Rampant Colt behind the slide serrations, along with the caliber marking on the right. The frame
is marked with “triangle/VP” and “R” on the left of the trigger guard, with “GOVERNMENT MODEL” and serial number on the right
side. Fitted with a pair of checkered “double diamond” walnut grips and a two-tone magazine with pinned lanyard loop base.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 60% original high-polish commercial blue finish with some light holster pattern edge wear, mild
freckling, limited minor pitting, thinning on the front grip strap revealing mostly grey patina and silver, and mild handling marks.
The grips are very good with some mild compression marks in the otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
