CONDITION: Excellent overall. The receiver, trigger guard, and barrel have 98% of the
original blue finish. 95% plus of the delicate niter blue finish is present on the small
components. The bolt and magazine follower have most of the original bright finish.
The bright buttplate shows careful polishing. The magazine has most of the dark
gray phosphate finish with some minor handling wear on the edges of the floorplate
and contact points. The stock and handguard are in exceptional condition and have
nearly all the original oil finish with only minor handling wear. The Mauser “banner”
trademark is crisp. All markings are extremely crisp. Mechanically excellent. This is an
outstanding example of an extremely rare Mauser Model 1916 self-loading carbine.
