Special Order Factory Engraved Connecticut Shotgun
Manufacturing Co. A. Galazan Model 20 Gauge Over/Under
Sidelock Shotgun with Case - Serial no. G316, 20 gauge, 28
inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This
top of the line model uses the best quality materials Connecticut
Shotgun Manufacturing Co. can offer its customers. Each gun
is custom built to the customer’s exact specifications with a
wide choice of features and engraving options. Less than 20 are
built each year. This example features over/under barrels with a
solid matte rib, single brass bead sight, an upper barrel marked
“A. GALAZAN” on the left side and “CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN
MFG. CO. N.B. CT U.S.A.” on the right side (all in gold), a band
of engraving at the breech, ejectors, 2 3/4 inch chambers and
full/full chokes. The barrel flat is marked “G316/20 GAUGE-2 3/4
IN.” The barrels and trigger guard tang are numbered to the
frame with the serial number on the trigger guard tang in gold.
The frame, lockplates, trigger guard, break lever and forearm
hardware feature a fine near full coverage tight scroll and rose
bouquet design. The lockplates are marked “GALAZAN” in gold
inside a banner. The action features a single trigger and tang
mounted safety with the safe “S” marking in gold. The trigger
guard also features the initials “JEF” in gold. The beautiful fancy
figured walnut forearm and straight pistol grip stock feature
multi-point checkering, tear drop stock flats and leather covered
recoil pad. The underside of the forearm features two diamond
engraved insets surrounded by the checkering. Stock and barrel
measurements: 14 3/4 inch length of pull; 1 1/4 inch drop at
comb; 1 3/4 inch drop at heel; bore diameter at 9 inches from
breech .624/.624 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech
.098/.098 inch. The shotgun weighs 7 pounds and 1.2 ounces.
Includes a factory leather bound takedown combination lock
case with canvas cover, brass corner protectors and leather
factory label (detached from the inside of the lid), two-piece
bore rod with attachments, pair of 20 gauge snap caps and oiler.
