Ultra Rare Cased Smith & Wesson Model 29-1 Double Action Revolver with
Case and Factory Letter - Serial no. S229801, 44 Magnum cal., 8 3/8 inch solid
rib bbl., blue finish, Goncalo Alves grips. The included factory letter lists this revolver
as having a 8 3/8 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered Goncalo Alves target grips when shipped to
Faber Brothers Inc., in Chicago, Illinois on August 30, 1962. Fitted with red ramp blade front and white
outline rear sights. Includes a hardwood case, cleaning tools, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish, light handling marks, a faint
cylinder drag line and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine with some
interior degradation.

Rare Nickel Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Double Action
Revolver with Case and Factory Letter - Serial no. S169928, 44 Magnum
cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, Goncalo Alves grips. The included factory letter lists this
revolver as having a 6 1/2 inch barrel, red ramp front and white outline rear sights, target hammer
and trigger, nickel finish, and checkered Goncalo Alves target grips in a shipment of 5 guns when
shipped to their exclusive distributor, Rex Firearms Co., in New York, New York on June 9, 1957.
Fitters mark “43” marked on ejector shroud. Includes a Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum case.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish with light handling marks, and a cylinder drag line.
Grips are very fine with minor dings and scratches and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very
good with interior wear and staining.

Factory Letter - Serial no. S159807, 44 Magnum cal., 4 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, Goncalo
Alves grips. The included factory letter lists this scarce 5-screw revolver as having a 4 inch
barrel, blue finish, and checkered Goncalo Alves target grips when shipped to Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett
Co. in Chicago Illinois on February 13, 1957. Fitted with red ramp front and white outline rear sights. Includes
S&W factory 44 Magnum case, cleaning tools, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish, some light handling marks, a loose red
sight insert, a cylinder drag line and grips with a few handling marks and crisp checkering. Case is very fine
with some internal discoloration.

Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 .44 Magnum Double Action
Revolver with Case - Serial no. S179492, 44 Magnum cal., 5 inch solid
rib bbl., blue finish, Goncalo Alves grips. Manufactured between 1956 and 1957. Matching
serial number on the butt, cylinder (sans “S” prefix) and frame. The desirable 5 inch barrel
is unnumbered. Fitted with serrated red ramp front and white outline rear sights and
checkered walnut grips with silver Smith & Wesson medallions. Most likely shipped to H. H.
Harris Co., in Chicago as one of the 500 they ordered with 5 inch barrels, an order that took
several years to fill. Includes a Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum case with cleaning tools and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with some light handling marks, a light
cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good with
separated lid lining.
