Rare One of One Hundred Made Consecutively Pair of Colt Boa Double
Action Revolvers with Boxes -A) Colt Boa Revolver - Serial no. BOA0841, 357
magnum cal., 4 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, rosewood grips. The Boa revolvers are
essentially a special run for the Lew Horton Distributing Company of Colt Trooper
Mark V revolvers fitted with Python barrels and finished in the desirable high polish
blue found on the Pythons. Only 1,200 revolvers (600 in each barrel length and 100
matched sets, such as this one) were manufactured in 1985. Original consecutive sets like this in excellent condition are very hard to find. The revolvers are fitted with red ramped front and fully adjustable rear
sights, and checkered panel grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions. The barrel is marked “BOA .357/.357 MAGNUM CTG.” on the left and the Colt address on the right. Includes original Colt “woodgrain” box
and original period advertisements dated February and March, 1985.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, a very faint cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering on the replacement grip. Mechanically excellent. Box is
very good. B) Colt Boa Revolver - Serial no. BOA0842, 357 magnum cal., 6 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. As described in “A”. With reproduction box hand marked to the gun.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, a faint cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good. This rare set, along
with its period advertisements would make an excellent addition to any Colt collection!
