Every time I write this for our December sale, I inevitably ask: where did the time
go? 2024 has been another sensational year for our firm, RIAC, and I believe it
has been a banner year for firearms collecting overall. We are grateful to have a
full year of selling under our belts at our new facility in Bedford, Texas—the true
flagship venue at the epicenter of the fine and historic arms collecting world.
The greatest team in the business has once again defied the odds,
assembling another extremely historic auction headlined by the
unveiling of two incredible collections from two titans of the
fraternity: The Brig and Louise Pemberton
Collection and the Charles Marx Collection.
I have never seen two collections balance one
another so well. In almost perfect harmony,
the sale also includes selections from the
collections of other icons: George S. Lewis Jr.,
Robert M. Lee, Greg Lampe, and Andrew Singer.
These collections combined to create what I
believe is the most important offering of Colt
firearms ever offered publicly for sale.
To have one of these collections is an honor; to
represent them all, I have no words. All I can say
is thank you for the opportunity. We at RIAC
embrace the obligation and responsibility that
follows to properly represent the collections,
the history, and the guns, while preserving
the legacy of the collectors.
