S PICTURED AND DESCRIBED IN THE 36 CALIBERS OF
THE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY BY BROWN
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. The revolver retains 80% plus original blue finish
with overall thinning and edge wear, a drag line on the cylinder and a smooth
gray patina on the grip straps. The grips have faded to brown and remain
fine with a period applied “X” cut into the bottom of each panel. Overall the
checkering is crisp. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
There is a piece of each leather strap and some of the leather trim absent on the
otherwise fine case. There is some soiling on the exterior and the lining, as well
as some moderate contact wear.
Provenance: The David M. Brown Collection; The Gateway Collection.
Estimate: 20,000 - 30,000
