CONDITION: Fine with 70% original blue finish
and essentially all of the original gold on the
barrel, smooth brown patina on the balance,
bright lock with distinct markings and engraving
and bright gilt backgrounds, attractive aged
patina on the silver mounts, and generally fairly
minor overall wear. The stock is also fine and has
attractive figure, crisp carving and molding, a few
minor cracks, and some scattered dings and scratches.
Mechanically fine.

Two Antique European Silver Mounted Tortoise Shell
Powder Flasks - Both of these 18th or early 19th century flasks
feature tortoise shell bodies with silver mounts. The first has floral
engraving on the mounts and a wolf’s head spout. The second is plainer
and has “Keene” inscribed by the spout.
CONDITION: Fine with attractive aged patina on the silver, some separation,
insect marks, and age and storage related wear. Both springs function.
