King Upgraded Colt Officer’s Model Heavy Barrel
Double Action “SUPER TARGET” Revolver with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 751560, 38 Special cal., 6 inch vent rib
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. The included factory letter
confirms the revolver’s current configuration (except for the sights)
with a six inch barrel chambered for .38 caliber, blue finish, and
type of grips not listed when included in a shipment of 15 pistols
sent to Baker and Hamilton in San Francisco, California, on January 14,
1948. Features a Colt-King Super target vent rib fitted with King “Ramp
Reflector” blade front and notch rear sights, a widened checkered
hammer spur, the standard one-line Colt address on top of the barrel,
model and caliber markings along with
“HEAVY BARREL” between Maltese crosses
on the left of the barrel, Rampant Colt on
the left of the frame, along with “triangle/
VP” and “8” on the left side of the trigger
guard. Matching visible serial numbers on
the frame and crane. Fitted with a set of
over-sized checkered walnut finger-groove grips with extended thumb rest.
CONDITION: Very fine as Colt-King upgraded, retaining 90% plus original blue finish with some minor edge wear,
a faint cylinder drag line, and some minor handling marks. The grips are exceptionally fine with some minor chips
and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

King Upgraded Colt Official Police Double Action “SUPER
TARGET” Revolver in .22 LR with Factory Letter - Serial no.
33015, 22 LR cal., 6 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, hard rubber
grips. The included factory letter confirms this revolver’s current
configuration (except for the sights) with a six inch barrel chambered
for .22 caliber, blue finish, and type of grips not listed when included in
a shipment of six sent to Baker and Hamilton in San Francisco, California,
on December 9, 1948. Features a Colt-King Super target vent rib fitted with King “Ramp Reflector”
blade front and notch rear sights, the standard one-line Colt address on top of the barrel, two-
line model and caliber marking on the left
of the barrel, Rampant Colt on the left of
the framer, along with “triangle/VP” and “Q”
on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted
with a set of contrasting brown/black Colt
checkered hard rubber grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as Colt-King upgraded,
retaining 85% plus original blue finish with
some light edge wear, a minor cylinder drag line, thinning on the grip straps showing some grey patina and
minor spotting, and minor handling marks. The grips are exceptionally fine with a hairline crack in the right panel
and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

and Original Box - Serial no. 143622,
22 LR cal., 4 5/8 inch vent rib bbl.,
blue finish, checkered walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1940. This first series
Woodsman features the highly desirable
Colt-King Super Target sight conversion
with added serrated vent rib on the barrel
marked “COLT-KING SUPER TARGET” on the
left side, Patridge blade front sight with
inset reflector, and fully adjustable rear
notch sights. Standard markings on the
barrel, frame, and slide, serial number on the front grip
strap, checkered grips, and full blue Colt Woodsman
marked magazine. Includes original box.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded by King Sight
Company, retaining 95% plus blue finish with light
handling marks, leading edge wear, and a soft Rampant
Colt on the slide. Grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Strikery drops with safety, otherwise mechanically
fine. Box is good with tears, and an absent lid short end.

Revolver - Serial no. 781536, 38 Special cal., 6 inch vent rib bbl.,
blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1950. King Super Target
vent rib with a wide blade King front sight ahead of an inset angled
mirror and integral target adjustable rear sight. Grooved trigger
and checkered King Cockeyed Hammer. “COLT-KING SUPER TARGET”
marked on the left of the vent rib, “OFFICERS MODEL TARGET/.38
SPECIAL CTG.” marked on the left of the
barrel. Checkered plastic Colt grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded by King,
retains 85% original blue finish with some
light muzzle and edge wear and a cylinder
drag line. Grips are also very fine with a few
nicks and crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.
