in 1942, with the included
factory letter confirming
the caliber, barrel length,
and finish when sold to the
U.S. Government as a part
of factory order No. 241 and sent in a shipment of 35 to the
depot quartermaster of the U.S. Marine Corps at 1100 South
Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 23, 1942.
Features fixed blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, “U
1629” stamped on top of the slide, the two-line address and
patent numbers on the left of the slide with “rampant colt” at
the rear, along with the model and caliber nomenclature on
the right side. Includes a correct unnumbered Colt factory box,
recoil spring, spring guide, plunger, slide catch, extractor, and
magazine.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% original blue finish
on the conversion components with minor edge wear, light
cycling wear, limited spotting, and minor handling marks on the
slide. Mechanically untested. Box is fine with some split seams.

Colt Service Model Ace
Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Factory Letter - Serial
no. SM11927, 22 LR cal., 5
inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic
grips. According to the included factory
letter, this pistol was part of a 745-piece
group destined for the Transport Officer
of the Springfield Ordnance Depot on
September 18, 1945. This would be just
over 2 weeks after the official signing
of the Japanese surrender documents
on the deck of the USS Missouri on
September 2nd. The letter confirms the
major features, including the finish and
sights. Blade front and square notch
adjustable rear sights, with the two-
line address and patent dates on the
left side of the slide near the Rampant
Colt, the Colt Ace markings on the
right, and a “JSB” inspected frame with
thin knurled hammer, long grip safety,
serrated slide stop and mainspring
housing, a pair of reinforced grips (Colt
left, Keyes Fibre right), and a weighted Service
Model magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 97% of the original
parkerized finish, showing some light scratches,
bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are very fine, with some mild dings and scratches.
Mechanically excellent.

Historic World War II U.S.M.C. Camillus Fairbairn-Sykes Dagger with Paramarine-Inscribed Sheath -
Patterned after the British Fairbairn-Sykes dagger, 12 inches overall with a 7 inch double edged blade, etched
with “U.S.M.C.” and the Camillus address on the obverse, and a one-piece checkered zinc hilt. The leather sheath
is fitted with steel reinforcement panels, and is carved on one side with a presentation inscription made out to
a “Frank Mitchell” from a Major with the 3rd Parachute Battalion, that states, “with best wishes for ‘many hapy
landings’”. While never making a live combat jump, the Paramarines of the United States Marine Corps did
distinguish themselves in action on multiple occasions, including at Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima, with former
Paramarines involved in both flag raisings on Mount Suribachi.
CONDITION: The dagger is very fine, with crisp etching, bright blade with minor spotting. Hilt is all intact, and the
otherwise fine sheath shows some tearing/separation of the retention strap.

inch round bbl., blue finish,
plastic grips. Manufactured in 1941 and stamped with the “RS”
(Col. Robert Sears) inspection mark on the left side of the frame
under the slide stop. The replacement barrel is blue and marked
with a “P” and “S” on the left side of the lug; “REPI” on the left side
above the lug. The left side of the slide is marked with
the Colt patent dates in a two-line block followed by the
Rampant Colt and the two-line Hartford address. A “P” is
stamped on top of the slide between the ejection port
and the rear sight. The right side of the frame is marked
with “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” over the serial number,
behind the slide stop hole and “M1911A1 U.S. ARMY”
ahead of it. A Colt “60” inspection mark is stamped on
the right side of the trigger guard bow. “T” and the Colt
“VP” proof are stamped on the left side of the trigger guard
bow. A “P” proof is stamped behind the magazine release. The
pistol has a milled checkered hammer, short checkered trigger,
checkered main spring housing, slide stop and safety lock.
Brown checkered grips and blue unmarked magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine. The pistol retains 75% plus of the original
finish with thinning on the grip straps and numerous spots of pitting visible on the slide and front portion of the
frame. The slide is correctly serial numbered to the frame. The grips are excellent with only a few light scuffs on
the right panel. All the markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
