Scarce Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 16 Gauge DHE Grade Double Barrel
Shotgun - Serial no. 219823, 16 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1926 as one of just 199 produced in this configuration according
to page 291 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote with a further 64 percent of
those having ejectors like this one. The gun was built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted
concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL”, standard markings on the flats, and 2
1/2 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened
action which displays the classic DH Grade engraving consisting of “PARKER BROS.” banners on either side, a pointer
the left, a setter on the right, and a quartet of pheasants on the underside all surrounded by scrollwork. The gun features double triggers and
a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings as well as a
pistol grip stock with carved drop points, factory hard rubber grip cap, blank silver inscription oval, and an engraved skeleton buttplate around the
checkered butt. The above configuration is confirmed on page 553 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock
measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .666/.668 inches; choke constriction .016/.022 inches; minimum wall thickness .023/.026
inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% professionally reapplied blue finish, some original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a mix of brown and grey
patinas, some minor subsurface pitting at the breech, recut engraving on the triggerguard, and minor handling evidence. The wood shows some dings and scratches and
sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Scarce Hunter Arms Co./L. C. Smith .410 Bore Field Grade Double
Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. FW154161, 410 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This gun was manufactured in 1937 as one of only
2,375 Field Grades built as a .410 bore out of 195,205 total Field Grade guns according to page 177 of
William Brophy’s “L. C. Smith Shotguns”. The gun was built with blued Armor Steel barrels featuring a single brass
bead sight on the matted solid rib, “L.C. SMITH Field GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M.F.R.S. FULTON. N.Y.,
U.S.A.” marked on the right and left tubes respectively, and chambers
measured 3 inches with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened action which is unadorned
aside from “L. C. SMITH” which is marked on either lockplate and features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is
mounted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend and pistol grip stock with a black polymer grip cap and buttplate.

5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 13 oz.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 96% original blue on the barrel with a small isolated patch of cold blue over pitting on the left barrel with
95% original case colors, a few freckles on the barrels, and minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a few light scratches and overall
crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved A. H. Fox DE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun
- Serial no. 18178, 12 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1910 and
built with blued barrels featuring a dual white
bead sights on the matted concave solid rib,
“KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and “A. H. FOX
GUN CO. PHILA. PA.” marked on the right and
left respectively, 3 inch wedges of floral scroll engraving at either breech, and
chambers measured 2 3/4 inch with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened
boxlock action which displays highly attractive DE Grade engraving consisting of floral scrollwork
surrounding “ANSLEY H. FOX” banners on either side as well as three separate game scenes
consisting of a pair of grouse on the left, a pair of pointing setters on the underside, and a pair of
woodcocks on the right. The gun features a double triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with
a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and ebony tip inlay as well as a straight grip stock with checkered flats and a rubber recoil
pad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .731/.729 inches; choke constriction .031/.031 inches; minimum wall thickness .037/.038
inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; slight cast-on; weight 8 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 95% plus blue finish on the barrels, 50% case colors with the balance a fine grey, light handling evidence,
discoloration on the lower tang, and spotting on the barrels. The replacement stock is also very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
