Factory Engraved Parker Brothers DHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 146716, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1908 as one of just 1,123 guns built in this configuration of grade, gauge, barrel steel, and barrel length according to Gunther, Mullins,
Parker, Price, and Cote on page 291 of “The Parker Story”. The gun was built with blued steel barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the matted concave solid rib marked
“PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CONN. TITANIC STEEL”, light engraving at the breech, and chambers measured 2 5/8 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened
boxlock action which displays standard DH Grade engraving consisting of floral scroll work surrounding a trio of game scenes showing of a setter in a field on the right, a quartet of mallards on the underside,
and a pointer in a field on the left. The gun features a double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved
fittings and a pistol grip stock with carved flats, factory hard rubber grip cap, “B.F.W.” in the silver inscription oval, and a rubber recoil pad. The above configuration of grade, barrel length, barrel steel, stock type, and gauge
is confirmed on page 419 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .737/.735 inches; choke constriction .006/.037 inches;
minimum wall thickness .029/.031 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs.

CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% plus original blue finish on the barrels, 70% original case colors with the balance a fine silver
patina, and some of the original blue on the triggerguard and lower tang. The metal shows a few scratches, a few tiny patches of
spotting, and some areas of thinned finish. The wood is also very fine with some light dings and scratches, dried recoil pad, and
mostly sharp checkering. Mechanically fine, the action is slightly off face.

Only Known Factory Game Scene Engraved L. C. Smith No. 4 Double Barrel Shotgun
Two Barrel Set with Factory Letter and Case - Serial no. 207255, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Nitro steel barrels with a single brass bead on
the matted concave solid rib which is marked “HUNTER ARMS Co. FULTON, N.Y.”, a band of engraving at the breech,
and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened sidelock action which displays
attractive Grade 4 pattern engraving consisting of a pointing setter on the left and a pointer on the right both in oval scenes and surrounded by scrollwork which continues onto
the toplever, tangs, and triggerguard which is marked “J. H. SHIRK”. The gun features bushed firing
pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted safety with gold “S” indicator. The gun is fitted with a
beautifully figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an ebony
tip inlay as well as a pistol grip stock with black grip cap and buttplate. Included is a second matching
numbered 30 inch barrel set with its own forend. The included factory letter confirms the current grade, two barrel sets,
barrel lengths, and barrel steel when it was finished on January 26, 1907. The letter also states that just one gun, this
gun, was built with two 30 inch barrel sets from the factory. Also included is a wood and leather takedown case marked
“H.S.M.” on the lid. Barrel measurements for the extra set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .730/.732 inches;
choke constriction .004/.020 inches; minimum wall thickness .026/.025 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore
diameter nine inches from the breech .728/.729 inches; choke constriction .031/.030 inches; minimum wall thickness
.024/.025 inches; 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 13 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 13 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% refurbished blue finish, flashes of the original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a fine
silver patina, and light handling evidence. There is a small crack at the rear of either lockplate; otherwise, the refurbished wood is very fine
with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is good.

Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set - Serial
no. 207602, 16 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1924, according to the table on page 279 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther,
Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, this is one of only 118 built in this configuration, with only 67
percent having ejectors like this example. Built with blued steel barrels featuring single bead
sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT.
U.S.A. PARKER SPEC.STEEL”, standard markings on the flats, and chambers measured 2 9/16
inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened actions featuring
standard GH engraving of oval game bird scenes on the left, right, and underside surrounded by light scrollwork
and line borders. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point
checkered splinter forearm with Deeley latch and engraved fittings as well as a pistol grip stock with a Parker grip cap, “HJH” in the silver inscription shield, and JOSTAM Anti-Flinch
Recoil Pad. Includes a second set of matching numbered 30 inch 16 gauge barrels with their own splinter forend and 2 9/16 inch chambers. Barrel measurements for the extra set (R/L):
bore diameter nine inches from the breech .665/.666 inches; choke constriction .029/.029 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.026 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore
diameter nine inches from the breech .664/.666 inches; choke constriction .008/.025 inches; minimum wall thickness .021/.027
inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 15 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% plus original blue finish with scratches and loss concentrated at the breeches, 80% original
case colors with the balance a fine grey, and otherwise light handling evidence. The revarnished wood is very good with numerous
dings and scratches, added recoil pad, and mostly crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent.
