Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 60 Double Action Revolver with
Box - Serial no. R66035, 38 Special cal., 2 inch solid rib bbl., stainless
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured 1970-1973. The revolver displays
approximately 80% coverage floral scroll engraving on a punch dot
back which flanks the barrel markings. The engraving envelops the frame and surrounds a shield
which bears the S&W monogram trademark with a wavy vine and leafy motif on the topstrap. The
cylinder has been tastefully cut with floral scroll between the flutes which nearly spills over the back of
the flutes creating a nice contrast between the fluted front and bare rear. The backstrap shows more floral
scroll which surrounds a blank inscription panel at the center. Fitted with serrated blade front and frame
notch rear sights as well as S&W monogram checkered panel grips. Includes a S&W blue box containing
cleaning tools and a screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent as embellished with light handling marks, a cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving.
Grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good.

Attractively Engraved and Silver Inlaid Smith & Wesson
.38-44 Heavy Duty Pre-Model 20 Double Action Revolver
with Relief Carved Grips - Serial no. S89878, 38 S&W special
cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, carved grips. Manufactured in
1952/53 and subsequently embellished with floral engraving and
carved grips. The embellishment likely occurred in the 1950s in
Japan. The engraving covers 85% of the surface and is accented with silver wire inlays. The
grips feature large relieved carved floral patterns along with Japanese characters and the
initials “JB” on the left and “WS” on the right and are attached to the revolver by a large screw.
Matching serial numbers appear on the butt, cylinder, and ejector shroud.
CONDITION: Fine as period custom embellished, retaining 90% plus of the blue finish with loss mostly on the
cylinder. The undersized grips are also fine with rich appearance, typical age lines on the bottom, and crisp
carving. Mechanically excellent. An intriguing S&W .38 Heavy Duty Revolver with 1950s embellishments.

Wesson Commercial Model 1917 Double Action
Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 207072, 45 ACP cal., 5 1/2
inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. The included factory letter
lists this revolver as chambered in .45 ACP with 5 1/2 inch barrel, fixed
sights, blue finish, butt swivel, and checkered walnut grips when
shipped to Marshall Field Co. in Chicago, Illinois on March 4, 1941,
one of the last pre-war shipments of this model. Matching serial
numbers are stamped on the butt, cylinder, and barrel.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% original blue finish with
some scattered handling marks, a light cylinder drag line, and overall
crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.

CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with some scattered light edge wear, noticeable
cylinder drag line, some very scattered handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box
is fine.

August 17, 1956. Includes a S&W .44 Magnum
case, cleaning tools, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling
marks, and a cylinder drag line. The grip is very fine with a chip on the right panel at
the trigger guard and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
