Desirable Pair of National Arms Co. Derringers with Scarce Short Barrels -
A) National Arms Co. Second Model Derringer - Serial no. 7055, 41 RF cal., 2 inch irregular
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Only 200 National Arms Co. Second Model derringers were produced with short two inch
barrels between 1865 and 1870. It is believed that there are less than half a dozen known pairs. These Derringers are
only two serial numbers apart (7055 and 7057) and feature matching factory scroll engraving, checkered walnut grips, less
common iron frames, and rare 2 inch barrels marked with “NATIONAL ARMS Co. BROOKLYN, NY”. The serial numbers are
marked on the bottom of the barrels, and the grips and rear straps are marked “BB 55” on A and “BB 57” on B.
Both have round blade front sights, no extractors, and hammer groove rear sights.
CONDITION: Very good. The barrel has 30% of the faded blue finish, and the frame has a
gray patina with some light spotting. The refinished grips are very good with crisp
checkering, thick glossy varnish, and some minor handling wear. Mechanically
fine. B) National Arms Co. Second Model Derringer - Serial no. 7057, 41
RF cal., 2 inch irregular bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. As described in A.
“KM 581” (Karl Moldenhaur) collection number in white paint present
on butt.
CONDITION: Very good. The barrel retains 25% of the original blue
finish while the frame displays a gray patina. The refinished grips are
very good with (matching) thick glossy varnish, crisp checkering, and
mild handling wear. Mechanically fine. A very desirable Pair of National
Arms Co. Derringers with scarce short barrels.

LOT 1069
Excellent Remington Arms-U.M.C. Type III Over/Under Derringer - Serial no.
L75375, 41 RF cal., 3 inch round bbl., matte blue finish, hard rubber grips. Also
known as the Model 95 or Double Derringer. This late production Type III or Model
No. 4 Third Variation was manufactured post-1935. Only 500 are estimated to have
been manufactured during the WWII era. It has the distinctive matte blue finish,
simplified barrel group, grooved instead of knurled hammer spur, and much larger
serial number than the earlier variations which were numbered in batches. The
barrel has the Remington-UMC address.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with 97% plus original matte blue finish, light fading
at the edges and back strap, minor marks, crisp checkering and markings, and minor
aging of the grips. Mechanically excellent. This is a very desirable variation of one of
Remington’s most iconic handguns.

LOT 1066
Chicago Firearms Co. Protector Palm Pistol - Serial no. 7394, 32 XSRF cal., 1 3/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish,
hard rubber grips. Manufactured in the 1890s, with the typical floral pattern accents on the barrel and frame,
this example has the attractive nickel finish. Produced without sights, with the model and patent markings
on the frame and the Chicago Firearms address on the side plate. The frame, side plate and turret cylinder
are numbered to match. It is fitted with checkered hard rubber panels on the side plate and frame and a
checkered hard rubber palm pad.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, retaining 97% plus original nickel plating with some handling
marks and crisp checkering on the excellent hard rubber. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 1068
Le Petit Protector Style “Le Femme Fatale” Ring Gun with Case - NSN, 2 mm pinfire cal., 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel/niter blue finish. This
is an example of a unique 19th century style custom made French pinfire ring gun which was subsequently made by unknown parties in the
20th century. These ring pistols are oddities and appeal to collectors purely as conversation pieces. The band of the ring has a light floral type
engraving and is marked “LE FEMME FATALE”. This ring gun features a small hand rotated 6-shot pinfire cartridge cylinder that must be removed
for loading/unloading. The pins of the cartridges are struck by the base of the hammer (any pinfire cartridge is obsolete). The included purple
leather and green felt lined case is unmarked Includes one pinfire cartridges and two screwdrivers.
CONDITION: Fine as custom made, retains 70% niter blue finish with some drag lines on the cylinder and thinning on the outer band.
Mechanically fine. Case is fine with some light handling marks.
