F. Stadelmann & Co. Game Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid Double
Barrel Pinfire Shotgun - Serial no. 1910, 16 gauge, 31 3/8 inch solid rib bbl., brown/
casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. This 19th century double barrel pinfire shotgun has Damascus
barrels with a bead front sight, “F. STADELMANN & COMP. IN SUHL” in gold inlay on the rib, a gold inlaid flourish on the
rib at the breech, and dual gold bands inlaid at the breech end of each barrel. The mounts have classic Germanic foliate scroll
engraving. The back action locks and trigger guard are engraved with hunting scenes with gold inlaid game animals: a stag on the
right, brace of fowl on the left, and a hind on the trigger guard. Matching serial numbers are found on the forearm, barrels, lever (“10”), and
buttplate. The right trigger is single set, and the left trigger is plain. The trigger guard has a horn grip extension.
The stock has a checkered wrist, cheekpiece, and a 14 inch length of pull.
CONDITION: Very good with 30% original brown finish and distinct Damascus patterns along the barrels, bright gold inlays, gray
patina on the action and mounts, crisp engraving, and mild overall wear. Aside from a couple of chips on the forearm, the wood is
also fine and has distinct checkering, smooth re-oiled finish, and light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.

Engraved and Carved H. Larsen
Side Lever Breech Loading Single Shot Rifle - Serial no. 300, 40 cal., 29 5/8 inch part octagon
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This late 19th century rifle was built by Norwegian gunmaker Hans Larsen’s
Liege factory and is a “tennstempel” (falling block) rifle design with a lever on the right side similar to the Norwegian
“kammerlader” (chamber loading) percussion rifles. It is fired using a back action lock with an internally mounted hammer and an adjustable
single set trigger. The exact cartridge is unclear, but the muzzle measured approximately .40 caliber (most likely 10.15x61 mm R). The barrel
features an adjustable blade front sight, notch and ladder rear sight, “H. LARSEN DRAMMEN” in silver on top at the breech, “STAAL” on the upper right, and “PATENT” on the upper left
along with pre-1893 Liege proof marks. Serial number “300” is marked on the barrel, on the inside of the forend, and on the right side of the action. The action and mounts feature foliate scroll engraving. The wood
features relief scrollwork carving, a dark horn forend cap, semi-pistol grip buttstock, and oval cheekpiece.
CONDITION: Very good with 95% plus original blue finish on the barrel, dark patina and some oxidation around the silver inlaid markings at the breech, 70% original blue on the frame and furniture, light original case
colors, patches of mild surface oxidation, crisp engraving, and generally minor overall wear mostly from age and storage. The wood is also very good and has crisp carving and scattered scratches and dings. The trigger
does not set; otherwise, the rifle is mechanically fine.

Engraved, Gold Inlaid, and Relief Carved German Percussion
Double Barrel Rifle from J.G. Pucker of Leipzig - NSN, 24 bore cal., 29 inch solid rib bbl., blue/gold/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. This c. mid-19th century German sporting gun features a straight rifled left barrel and spiral
rifled right barrel each in approximately 24 bore. The barrels are Damascus. The left barrel has “GUSS” in gold inlay, and the
right barrel has “STAHL” in gold inlay. The solid rib has “-MANUFRE DE J.G. PUCKER A LEIPZIG.” in gold inlay along with a “crown/V” and has a
dovetailed German silver blade front sight and a notch rear sight with folding leaf. The breech end of the barrels and rib have dual gold bands.
The left lock has “J.G. PUCKER”, and the right lock has “A LEIPZIG.” Both have hammer safeties and scroll engraving. Coordinating engraving extends to
the mounts. There is an “S” on the standing breech. The left trigger is plain, and the right trigger is single set. The stock features a carved wolf head with glass
eyes within an oak leaf and acorn surround at the forend tip, a scrolling horn trigger guard, checkered wrist, intertwined relief carved scrollwork, a checkered and
carved wood patchbox lid, sling swivels, large cheekpiece, and horn buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine with bright gold inlays, fading original blue finish blended with mottled brown patina on the barrels, mostly faded original case colors and smooth gray
patina on the balance, oxidation and pitting, and general mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has crisp checkering and carving, small chips and insect damage
spots in the horn, and light scratches and dings. The right barrel is obstructed towards the breech. Mechanically fine.

Attractive Panel Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid G. Ulbricht Teschuer-Collath
Patent Slide and Tilt Underlever Hammerless Side by Side Shotgun - Serial
no. 37200, 14 gauge, 30 3/8 inch solid rib bbl., brown/
gold/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This 19th century
shotgun has etched Damascus barrels with dual gold bands at the breech, a
bead front sight and “GUST. ULBRICHT DRESDEN” in gold on the concave rib,
and no proofs. The watertable is marked “37200,” and the tang along the inside
of the forend is marked “G. ULBRICHT DRESDEN 398.” The action features classic
German blackleaf engraving, game bird scenes on the right and bottom, and a
scene of three deer on the left. Each scene is bordered by gold inlaid scroll patterns, and there is also a section of gold
scrolls among the designs on the upper tang behind the cocking indicators and the rotating selector. The underlever has
a horn arm. The forend and wrist are checkered. The horn trigger guard has delicate pierced scroll design at the rear. The buttplate is checkered horn, and sling
swivels are mounted on the bottom of the buttstock and underside of the rib. The right side of the stock has a silver squirrel followed by a pin and one silver snipe
followed by four pins suggesting the gun was used to take one squirrel and four snipe. 13 7/8 inch length of pull.
CONDITION: Fine with distinct twist patterns along the barrels, minimal loss of the bright original gold inlay, smooth gray and brown patina, and minor overall wear. The trigger guard has some
cracking and loss and is loose at the front. The wood is fine and has mild wear on the otherwise crisp checkering, numerous scratches and dings, some filled spots at the heel, and minor insect
damage on the buttplate. Mechanically fine.
