Outstanding Serial Number 1 Raymond E. Hutchens Custom Made
Presentation Style Luger Carbine with Shoulder Stock and Presentation
Case - Serial no. 1, 30 Luger Auto cal., 11 7/8 inch round bbl., blue/straw/gold
finish, hardwood grips. This is a very high quality presentation style 1902 Luger
manufactured by master gun maker Raymond E. Hutchens of Indiana, as an exact
recreation of the Model 1902 Luger Carbine, with beautiful Madagascar ebony
hardwood fittings including the detachable shoulder stock. Raymond Hutchens
is more well known for his legendary functional 1/2 scale miniature guns, with
this Luger Carbine offered being a full size functional example. The original Luger
Carbines were intended as a substitute for the light hunting rifles then available on the
market, being highly compact when disassembled and light and easy to maneuver when together.
Fancy gold inlaid “REH” monogram located on top of the front toggle, with a beaded blade front sight, 300
meter sliding notch rear sight, and chambered in 7.65 mm Luger Auto (30 Luger). The matching visible
serial number “1” is located on various components including the base of both included magazines and
the iron section of the shoulder stock. It is accompanied by a Madagascar ebony hardwood presentation
quality case with rectangular plaques both on top of the lid and inside the case bearing gold inlaid “MADE
BY/R.E.HUTCHENS” above a gold inlaid “REH” monogram, with green felt lined fitted interior, and an
outer leather case cover. Also includes a leather carrying case with red felt lined fitted interior, and extra
matching numbered magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% original blue and straw finishes, and all of the gold inlay on the toggle.
Furniture is also excellent with minimal handling evidence and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
Stock is also excellent. Cases are also excellent. A very high quality cased presentation style Luger Carbine by the master
gun maker Raymond E. Hutchens that would make a fine addition to any Luger collection.

Unique Presentation Cased Walther/John Martz
P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol in Highly Desirable 45
ACP with Extra Magazine - Serial no. 3499c, 45 ACP cal., 4 7/8 inch round
bbl., bright finish, synthetic grips. Built by noted custom gunsmith John
Martz using a Walther P.38 frame, other vintage components and new-made
parts, this pistol has been “stretched” in multiple dimensions to keep the distinct
profile of the P.38 pistol while chambering the 45 ACP cartridge. Blade and notch
sights, with “P.38” on the left side of the slide, original serial number and “eagle/359”
inspection mark on the left side of the frame, “45 ACP/JVM 1” on the right
and “977/c” on the underside of the locking block. Fitted with straw
colored small parts, and a set of brown Bakelite grips. Two “45 Auto”
marked magazines are included, marked “JVM/1” and “JVM/2” on the
floorplate. Also included with a hardwood display case with green felt
lining, spaces for the pistol and extra magazine, and ten rounds of
ammo in a cartridge block.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as customized and upgraded by master
gunsmith John Martz, with minor spotting overall, a few traces of blue
on the interior, and minor handling marks. The grips are fine, with
some minor dings. Mechanically fine. The case is fine. It does not get
any better in a John Martz custom semi-automatic pistol!
