Factory Engraved Jaques Knecht Over/Under Hammer Combination Gun - Serial no.
2636, 12/41 gauge, 27 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., brown/casehardened finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured c. late 19th century. Built with browned twist steel shotgun barrel and fluid steel rifle barrel
featuring a beaded blade front sight and a fixed rear sight on the matted flat solid rib which is marked “JAQUES
KNECHT, ZURICH”, front sling swivel, a single band of engraving at the breech, and chambers with a single extractor. Per the
consignor, the rifle is chambered for 10.4mm Vetterli (.41 Swiss). The shotgun barrel has a 2 5/8 inch chamber and a choke constriction
of inches. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened back action which displays attractive scroll engraving and features rebounding
hammers and double triggers with single set front. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and checkered forend with engraved forend iron and a round knob pistol grip stock with
raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, engraved casehardened cartridge trap, and a steel buttplate. Length of pull 13 1/4 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 15 oz.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 95% plus original browned finish, 25% original case colors on the action with the balance a fine silver patina, some scattered minor spotting, high edge wear on
the wood, a few light dings and scratches, and mostly crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Panel Scene Engraved J. Tomischka Single Shot Hammer Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 3773, 360
Rook cal., 26 inch solid rib octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1891 and 1918.
Features beaded blade front sight and rear sight consisting of a standing leaf and a flip up leaf on a matted solid rib marked “J. TOMISCHKA IN KREMS A.D.” as well as an
integral peep tang sight, with a band of light engraving at the breech, dolls head barrel extension, and Weipert proofs on the underside. The frame is engraved with relief game scenes
of deer on the left and boar on the right surrounded by floral scroll work. The lock also features a deer game scene and decorated hammer. Mounted on a multipoint checkered, pistol grip
buttstock and Mannlicher forend with Swiss cheekpiece and metal Neider buttplate. Includes “JOH. SPRINGER’SERBE IN WIER” marked scope.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% plus original blue finish on the barrel with thinning to brown on the balance. The frame retains traces of case colors in protected areas with a mostly smooth grey patina. The lock
retains traces of case colors in protected areas as well with a smooth brown patina and a repair at the nose. Wood is very good with a hairline crack visible at the toe which extends past the rear sling loop and a crack which
comes off the lower tang through the checkering on the pistol grip. Mechanically fine. The scope retains most of the exterior blue finish with half of the other finishes and hazy optics.

Factory Relief Game Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid Louis Schmeisser
Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - NSN, 12 gauge, 31 inch solid rib bbl., brown/
casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured c. late 19th century. Built with
brown Damascus steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the concave solid rib which is marked “L. SCHMEISSER.
JENA.” in gold, dual gold bands at the breech, front sling swivel, and chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with a single extractor.
The barrels are fitted to the casehardened underlever back action which displays near full coverage scroll engraving surrounding seven relief cut and game scenes consisting of a dog on
the left lockplate, a hare on the left of the action, a pointer on the underside, two pheasant cocks on the right of the action, a fox on the right lockplate, a hare on the upper tang, and a roe buck on
the triggerguard bow, all of which are encompassed by gold line borders. The gun features dual triggers and rebounding hammers. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and vine carved straight
grip stock with raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a checkered steel buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .709/.705 inches; choke constriction
.000/.000 inches; minimum wall thickness .027/.030 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining nearly all of the original brown finish with strong Damascus patterns, some minor flaking of the gold along with some fading, some original case colors in the protected
areas, some dried grease on the action/locks, some oxidation on the sling swivels, and crisp carving on the stock. Mechanically excellent.

Exhibition Quality Panel Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid Nagant/Remington
Rolling Block Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 694, 16 gauge, 27 1/4 inch solid rib bbl.,
brown/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured c. 1870s-1880s with designs from
Emil and Leo Nagant in Liege, based on a similar design as their smaller scale Gendarmerie double barrel pistols.
The left side of the frame is marked “BREVET REMINGTON/694”, and the right side has “BREVET NAGANT/694”. The frame, breech block and
trigger guard are exhibition quality panel scene engraved and feature a fox or wolf on the right, a running stag on the left, and a wild boar on the trigger guard. The
Damascus barrels have a single brass bead sight on the solid rib marked “PH. RHEINBERGER IN NEUSTADT A/H” in gold inlay, and chambers measuring 3 inches with a single extractor.
“39900” is marked on the rib covered by the forend and is repeated on the frame along with “863” the Liege “perron” inspection mark, an “M” and a “crown/V” marking. The “crown/V” is also marked on
the inside of the trigger guard, and the bolt retaining the barrels is also marked “863.” The gun features double triggers, a smooth forearm with horn tip inlay and “LEI POULLAIN” marked on the inside, a
scrolling horn grip extension, and a straight grip stock a cheek piece, 1/2 inch butt extension of a different species of wood, and a smooth steel buttplate. Sling swivels are mounted to the barrels and butt.
Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 13 7/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very good with mostly gray patina, light brown and Damascus patterns on the barrels, replacement upper tang screw, and mild wear. The revarnished wood is also very good with some minor repairs and chips,
attractive flame figure, and mild dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
