Silver Mounted Stanton “Queen
Anne” Flintlock Pistol - NSN, 45 cal.,
2 1/4 inch round bbl., bright/silver
finish, walnut grips. This classic Queen Anne pistol from
the mid-18th century is signed “STANTON” below the frizzen spring and has a
“fleur-de-lis/IB” maker’s mark flanked by London proof and view marks on the
underside. The top of the breech is marked “LONDON”, and there is some scroll
and border engraving. The smoothbore, cannon style barrel has turned rings and
unscrews for reloading. The walnut stock has raised relief shell carving and silver
mounts consisting of a grotesque mask pommel cap, martial trophy pattern side
plates, and wrist escutcheons with shell, scroll, and foliate accents.
CONDITION: Fine with attractively aged patina on the silver mounts, gray patina
and minor pitting on the iron, replacement cock, and mild wear. With the
exception of a sliver absent on the front left, the stock is also fine and has crisp
carving and a few minor marks and scratches. Mechanically fine.

Engraved Double
Barrel Percussion Knife Pistol
- NSN, 33 cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., German silver/bright finish, German silver grips. This pistol has two pattern welded
smoothbore barrels, with a “crown/T” proof and Liege oval proof on the outward facing side at the breech, and a percussion nipple on
the rear. The hammer is manually cocked. The triggers fold out from the underside. It is also fitted with a 4 1/4 inch blade that folds out
from between the triggers. The body of the knife pistol has engraved German silver scales.
CONDITION: Very good with an attractive patina on the barrels and folding blade. The engraving on the fine scales remains crisp with
scattered handling marks throughout. Mechanically needs adjustment as it will not stayed cocked.

Cased Pair of Engraved Barnett Brass Barreled
Flintlock Officer’s Pistols
-A) Barnett Officer’s Pistol - NSN, 58 cal., 8 1/2 inch part octagon bbl.,
bright finish, walnut stock. John Edward Barnett was a contractor to the
Customs and Ordnance departments in the U.K. in the early 19th century.
This pair of pistols are signed “BARNETT” on the locks and have London proof
marks on the upper left barrel flats. The locks and mounts feature foliate
and martial engraving patterns. The pistols are fitted with swivel mounted
ramrods and come in a hardwood case fitted for both pistols, powder flask,
powder measure, two small caliber ball molds, and some
oversized cast lead balls.
CONDITION: Very good overall with bright grey patina on the iron, lightly
aged patina on the brass, faint crack at the tail of the lock, and some
scattered minor handling marks on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The
restored/relined case and accessories are good with mild storage wear.
B) Barnett Officer’s Pistol - NSN, 58 cal., 8 1/2 inch part octagon bbl.,
bright finish, walnut stock. See “A”.
CONDITION: Very good overall with mostly bright grey patina on iron, lightly
aged patina on the brass, chip above the lock, and scattered minor handling
marks on the stock. Mechanically excellent.

Rare Wilkinson Flintlock Powder Tester - Manufactured
c. 1815. This fine powder tester is inscribed “WILKINSON/
LONDON” on the upper tang and features a heavy wheel under
spring tension with markings from 5 to 40 on each side and
a large release trigger. The bag shaped walnut grip has fine
checkering and a blank silver escutcheon. A note in Norman R.
Blank’s collection records indicates he purchased it from The
Edgar Nock Collection on February 20, 1961.
CONDITION: Very good with much of the original
casehardened finish remaining, smooth gray and brown patina
on the balance, patches of pitting concentrated on the right
side, crisp checkering on the grip, attractively aged patina on
the silver escutcheon, and fairly minor age and storage related
wear overall. Mechanically excellent.
