Desirable Special Weapons Co. British Mk II STEN Submachine Gun, Class III/
NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. SWC0087, 9 mm cal., 8 inch round bbl., parkerized finish,
metal stock. This is a very fine example of one of the more iconic World War II SMGs: the British MkII Sten submachine
gun. This weapon was manufactured by the Special Weapons Co. in North Carolina using a set of World War II British Sten
parts mated to a newly manufactured receiver tube. The STEN SMG was one of the most widely used SMGs during World War II.
They were manufactured in England for approximately $ 9.00 each and were used by numerous allied forces throughout the war. It was
also dropped to thousands of resistance fighters in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Italy. They were unique in that the wire stock and
barrel could be removed making them easy to parachute into allied forces. It fires from and open bolt with the standard 9 mm Luger cartridge. The top of
the magazine well is marked with the Mk II nomenclature and the underside is stamped “87/FL38184”, and the right side of the bolt has been numbered
“15906”. The left rear side of the receiver tube is stamped “SWC 0087/SPECIAL WEAPONS CO./WILM NC”. It comes with a U.S. M1D type, lace on leather
cheek pad, marked “MRT” on the side which is mounted on the loop style stock, and one 30-round stick magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine as remanufactured, with 98% of the light gray parkerized finish overall with the bolt still in the white. Mechanically excellent. A very
nice looking, ready to go STEN MkII type SMG. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the
