Factory Deep Relief Game Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid Austrian Sidelock Over/Under Combination
Gun with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 19886, 12/7x65R gauge, 25 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin/gold finish, walnut stock. Built with
blued Bohler Rasant steel demiblock barrels featuring a ramped beaded blade front sight, gold centerlined flip-up rear sight, and scroll
engraved and gold inlaid German style claw mounts holding a Zeiss Daivari-Z 1.5-6x42mm scope on the matted solid rib, scroll engraving and gold
inlaid lines at the breech, front sling swivel, import mark just ahead of the forend, and Ferlach proof marks dated April, 1987. The shotgun barrel features a 2 3/4
inch chamber with extractor and choke constriction of .032 inches. The barrels are fitted to the coin finished bolstered sidelock action with double Kersten crossbolt
which displays gold inlaid borders around deep relief oak leaf engraving on the fences and scroll engraving surrounding a trio of relief cut game scenes before
spilling onto the toplever, tangs, and triggerguard which is marked with a gold inlaid “HB” monogram. The game scenes consist of a pair of fighting roe
bucks on the left with does watching in the background, a calling capercallie on the underside, and a chamois defending its kid
from a golden eagle with a second chamois in the background. While the work is unsigned, it is clear that the engraving was
executed by the hands of a highly skilled engraver. The gun features cocking indicators on the lockplates, gold dual
triggers (front single set), and a tang mounted manual safety with a gold inlaid “S” indicator. The gun is fitted
with an attractively figured fish scale checkered forend with engraved and gold inlaid forend iron and a pistol
grip stock with black grip cap, Shelhamer chinstrap, raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a Pachmayr White
Line recoil pad. Length of pull 14 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 13 oz. (with scope).
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue, coin, and gold finishes with minor handling evidence,
a few minor marks on the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
Scope optics are sharp.

Barrel Set with Two Scopes - Serial no. 132965, 16GA/6.5x57
mm gauge, 25 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
stock. Blued Bohler Antinit steel barrels with a beaded blade
front sight, flip-up rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a
Carl Zeiss Diavari-D 1.5-6x scope on the matted solid rib which is
marked “JOHANN FANZOI - FERLACH”. The barrels show standard
era factory markings, import mark under the forend, 1968 dated
Austrian proofs, and light scroll engraving around the breech section. The shotgun barrel has a 2 3/4 inch
chamber and choke constriction of .027 inches. The coin finished bolstered hand detachable sidelock action displays beautiful extensive scroll engraving
over a matted background with “JOHANN FANZOI FERLACH” in a banner on the underside and the scrollwork continuing onto the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The gun features
double triggers (front is a single set) and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “S”. Highly figured, multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved fittings and round
knob pistol grip stock with left handed shadowline cheekpiece, engraved blued steel cartridge trap with gold inlaid “PB”, and red rubber recoil pad. Included is an extra set of matching numbered and engraved 16 gauge/.222
Remington barrels with 2 3/4 inch chamber, choke constriction of .032 inches, and its own Kahles Helia-Super 3-9x scope. Also included is a wood and leather takedown case with Fanzoj label inside the lid and the same “PB” initials
on the exterior lid. Length of pull 14 9/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 1 oz. with scope.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with only some minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with slightly ill-fitting forend seems, a few minor dings and scratches, and sharp checkering. The
scope optics are sharp. The case is very good. The extra barrel set and scope are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
