Scarce Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 20 Gauge DHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with Vent Rib and Single Trigger - Serial
no. 225485, 20 gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1928 as one of just 330 manufactured in this
configuration per the chart on page 291 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. The grade, gauge, barrel length, and ejectors
below are confirmed on page 563 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad, though the vent rib, beavertail forend, and single
trigger are not noted. Built with blued steel barrels featuring dual white bead sights on the added matted
flat vent rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL”, light engraving at
the breech, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the size
“0” casehardened boxlock action which displays standard DH Grade engraving consisting of floral scrollwork
surrounding a trio of game scenes depicting a setter in a field on the right, a quartet of pheasant cocks on
the underside, and a pointer in a field on the left. The gun features an added Miller single selective trigger
and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered
beavertail forend with engraved forend iron as well as a pistol grip stock with carved drop points, factory
hard rubber grip cap, blank gold inscription oval, and an added Silver’s type orange recoil pad. Barrel and
stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .618/.619 inches; choke constriction
.025/.026 inches; minimum wall thickness .026/.024 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 13
3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally refurbished, retaining 95% blue finish with most of the loss on
the lower tang, recut checkering, light handling evidence, slightly oversized recoil pad, a tiny crack at the left
side of the stock head, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Scarce Factory Engraved Parker Brothers AHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 154547, 12 gauge, 30 1/4 inch
solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1910 and subsequently masterfully refurbished to its
original configurations with a new manufactured set of barrels and stock. The gun has blued steel barrels featuring a single
bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN . ACME STEEL”. The barrels
show remarked standard markings, light engraving at the breeches, doll’s head extension, and chambers measured at 2 3/4
inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened action
which displays A grade engraving showing Parker Bros. banners on either side along
with oval game scenes surrounded by intricate floral scroll engraving. The left shows
a pair of pointers, the right shows a pair of setters, the underside has a portrait of
a trio of foxes, and a running stag on the triggerguard. The action features double
triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun shows Belgian proof marks
on the water table. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and fancy checkered
walnut forend with Deeley style latch and engraved fittings as well as a pistol grip
stock with checkered fleur-de-lis carved flats, grip cap inscribed “DR. J.W.P./1910”,
and engraved skeleton buttplate over the checkered bare butt. While the barrels are
remade, this gun is listed in “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and
Fjestad confirming its grade, gauge, and capped pistol grip stock. Barrel and stock
measurements R(/L): bores nine inches from the breech measure .723/.734 inches;
choke constriction .018/.027 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.034 inches; 1
9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel;
14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 99% of the blue and case hardened finishes, minor handling
evidence, recut engraving, a few minor marks in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
Mechanically excellent.
