CONDITION: Very fine, retains 50% of the bright
original blue finish, a few areas showing some
grey patina, and 85% plus of the original gold
finish with some light wear on high spots
showing an attractively aged gold color, and crisp
engraving overall. The grips are also very fine with
a few short hairline age cracks around the screw
bolsters and a nicely aged tone. Mechanically
functions intermittently. The case is also very fine
with a few scattered very light handling/storage
marks. This is a beautiful example of a very early,
exhibition quality engraved extremely rare Smith
& Wesson 1st Issue 2nd Type revolver
with a scarce Gutta Percha case!
Provenance: The Cam & Deb Cooper Collection.
Estimate: 15,000 - 27,500
