Scarce Revolutionary War Era Engraved Hunt Four-Shot Volley Pistol
- NSN, 40 cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., tutenag/bright finish, walnut grips. This
fascinating pistol from Joseph Hunt c. 1767-1774 features primarily tutenag/paktong components (an early
nickel alloy similar to German silver), including the turn-off group of four barrels. The simultaneous shots are propelled
by a single charge of black powder loaded into the separate breech section. The breech has both London and Tower private proof
marks to the left and is engraved and marked “LONDON”. The lock is signed “HUNT” in an engraved banner and has light engraving, a
sliding half-cock safety, and a stepped tail. The mounts feature fine engraving, and the trigger guard has an acorn finial. The stock has raised
relief shell carving.
CONDITION: Good overall with aged patina on the tutenag, gray patina and moderate pitting on the lock, barrels exhibiting attractively aged
patina, some replacement parts, refreshed engraving on the upper tang, chips and repairs mainly at the lock mortise, and mild overall wear.

Colonial Era Doglock Flintlock Fusil - NSN, 60 cal., 48 7/8 inch part octagon bbl., antiqued
brown/brass finish, maple stock. This c. early 18th century smoothbore fusil has an octagon to round
barrel with a blade front sight, notch rear sight, and light stippled designs. The lock has a faint maker’s mark.
The mounts are brass, and the side plate features fleur-de-lis and floral designs. The maple stock has raised relief
carving at the breech. This fusil appears to have been built or restocked by a colonial American gunsmith.
CONDITION: Good as restored with a mix of dark brown patina, “antiqued” brown, mild oxidation and pitting, and heavy
wear on the lock and barrel; aged patina on the brass mounts, some repairs and replacements such as a spliced stock,
and general dings and scratches. Mechanically functions.

Ornate Etched Blade Lion Head Pommel
British Cavalry Officer’s Saber with
Scabbard - Manufactured c. late 18th century to
early 19th century. This is a highly attractive presentation
grade British cavalry officer’s saber. It is decorated with niter blue and
gold filled engravings consisting of floral designs, a Royal Coat of Arms, and a crown above
“GR” cipher with the flat spine maker signed “J.J. Runkel Solingen”. Gilt brass hilt, with a crown above “GR” cipher design in the guard, a detailed lion head pommel, and a wire wrapped ivory grip. The
saber measures approximately 37 3/4 inches in overall length with an approximately 32 1/2 inch curved blade. Includes a gilt brass mounted brown leather scabbard.
CONDITION: Very fine sword, the blade is bright and retains much of the bright niter blue and gilt finishes, with a few patches of light oxidation, and most of the etching remaining crisp. Most of the
bright gilt finish on the hilt remains. The ivory grip exhibits attractive natural aged patina, with a chip at the bottom, and some loosened wire wrap. The scabbard is fair with some of the gilt finish
remaining on the brass mounts, a loose lower mount, and age related cracking in the leather with a separated section at the middle. An attractive early military saber!

Colonial Era Engraved and Carved Flintlock Fusil - NSN, 65 cal., 48 5/8 inch flat top round bbl., antiqued finish, cherry stock. This colonial era fusil may have been
“militarized” for use in the French & Indian War and/or American Revolution and has a smoothbore barrel with a small bayonet lug on the underside near the muzzle, blade front sight, flat top,
and sighting groove on the tang. The lock has scroll engraving. The mounts are brass. The stock is cherry and has molding along the edges of the forend, stylized drop flats, and very attractive raised
relief carving at the breech and trigger guard finial.
CONDITION: Good as restored with “antiqued” gray and brown patina and varnish on the lock and barrel along with moderate oxidation and pitting, aged patina on the brass mounts, re-soled frizzen, entry pipe
finial absent, some replacement parts including a modern side plate, slivers of the forend absent, chips around the lock mortise, and worn but visible carving. Mechanically functions.
