NATO (308) cal.,

here is a desirable example of a fully transferable M1A machine
gun manufactured c. 1970s to early 1980s by Springfield Armory
Inc. of Geneseo, Illinois. Very little separates this rifle from the
original U.S. Government M14 battle rifle used during Vietnam
War, save the receiver markings, as this fully transferable example
integrates a full set of selective fire components. Introduced in
1971, the Springfield M1A was made to be as close as possible
to the military issue M14 battle rifle for the American civilian
and law enforcement market, and gained strong popularity for
use in shooting competitions, as M14s were not available to the
commercial market outside of military use. “NM 072” blade front
sight on the combination sight base, flash hider and bayonet
lug on the unmarked barrel, and locking bar equipped peep
rear sight with “BATTLE RANGE” elevation knob, “TRW” bolt, “SA”
operating rod, “7267030 66118” trigger housing, and a “WRA”
safety. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a ribbed alloy upper
handguard, faint DoD “eagle” cartouche on the left side, with a
metal buttplate and flip-up shoulder rest. Included with the lot is
a factory box (no legible number, marked for a “Std. G.I.” model),
extra magazine, clamp-on M2 bipod and a green canvas sling.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% plus factory quality parkerized
finish, showing minor wear and handling marks overall. Stock is
fine as revarnished, with minor dents and scuffs. Mechanically
excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA),
fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the
provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
Estimate: 22,500 - 30,000
