World War II German Mauser K98k High Turret Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
with Scope - Serial no. 30623, 7.92 mm Mauser cal., 23 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish,
laminate stock. This is a solid representative example of a World War II German high turret sniper
rifle that was manufactured by the Mauser factory, and fitted with a Dialytan 4x sniper scope. The top of
the receiver ring is covered by the front turret scope base, reinforced with correct late war style soldering
around the edges. The breech end of the barrel, left of the receiver and left of the rear scope base correctly
have a small “eagle/135” proof from the Mauser factory, with the receiver side wall marked “Mod.98”. The
rifle has a stamped steel trigger guard housing, floorplate and barrel bands, with a cupped steel buttplate.
Full and partial matching visible serial numbers on the barrel, receiver, barrel bands, floorplate, and interior
of the laminated handguard, with some numbers arsenal restamped to match. The late war laminated stock
is numbered with “31100” stamped inside the stock channel. Number “36996” on the left side of the front
scope ring, with “DIALYTAN 4x/bmj” and “69825/+” marked on the scope tube. The scope has the correct
sniper elevation knob on top graduated from 100-800 meters. Fitted with a correct period brown leather

CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retains 90% blue finish with a few areas of light pitting visible
beneath the finish, and the replacement stock is fine, with some light handling marks, and lightly visible
stamps. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very good, retains 60% blue finish with some oxidation, brown
freckling, and hazy optics.

Exceptional World War II British BSA Shirley No. 4 Mk I (T) Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Matching Scope and Transit Chest -
Serial no. N33908, 303 British cal., 25 inch round bbl., black/parkerized finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured by B.S.A. Shirley in 1944 and subsequently selected for
completion as a No.4 Mk I (T) sniper rifle during factory tests. Features winged blade front and “S.M.” marked folding ladder peep rear (battle peep removed) sights, “M47C/1944/
N33908/TR” marked on the left of the receiver socket, “T” marked on the left side of the receiver, “M/47C” marked safety, and a central sling swivel secured by the king screw. Matching visible
serial numbers on the bolt handle and re-numbered to match magazine. Topped off with a “1945” dated AK&S No. 32 Mk III scope (serialized “No 28088”, post-and-cross-hair reticle) fitted to a dual
thumb-screw mount with a matching serial number to the rifle stamped on the left side. Fitted with a re-numbered to match beech forend marked “F/35” on the underside, a set of replacement beech handguards, and a “SL”/N/74”
walnut butt with screwed on hardwood cheek riser, Holland & Holland “S51” conversion stamp on the underside, brass trapdoor buttplate, and matching “28088” scope serial number stamped on top of the wrist. Includes a green
painted hardwood transit chest fitted for the rifle, stenciled with “CHEST S.A. No.15 MK.1” on the side and “RIFLE NO.4 MK.1T/N33808/SIGHT TELE.NO.32 MK.3/28088” in white paint along with matching numbered paper tags nailed
to the side, a green metal storage case for the scope with tools inside, a metal cleaning kit tin, a set of leather lens caps for the scope, and a reproduction M1907 pattern leather sling.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining 80% plus black and 95% plus underlying parkerized finish with some scattered light edge wear, a few scattered minor areas of thinning black paint, some dried arsenal
grease, and mostly clear markings. The wood is also very fine as sanded and re-oiled with some light rub wear, some minor compression marks, and clear stamps. Mechanically excellent. The scope is very fine as refinished with
some flaking black paint and very clear optics. The transit chest is fine as repainted with a missing hinge screws and a large crack in the lid.
