Factory Game Scene Engraved Darne 16 Gauge Grade 20 Sliding Breech Double Barrel
Shotgun - Serial no. RR138, 16 gauge, 26 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued
steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, three wedges of scroll engraving at the breech,
front sling swivel, period nitro proofs on flats dating to between 1923 and 1962, ten Darne punch marks on the flats indicating the gun
is a grade 20, and chokes marked 2 1/2 inches with extractors. Per the consignor, the highest grades, grades 19, 20, 21, and 22, were Darne’s
presentation grades and of highest quality. The barrels are mated to a beautifully coin finished engraved sliding breech action which displays carved fences and highly
attractive scroll engraving surrounding two game scenes depicting two stags and a hind on the left and a pointer flushing a mallard on the right. The gun features bright pins, double
triggers, and slide safety with gold inlaid “F” and “S” indicators. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with horn tip as well as a round knob pistol grip stock
with engraved rear sling swivel and checkered horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both .670 inches; choke constriction .021/.032
inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.029 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with some minor dings and spotting on the barrels, 98% original coin finish with minor areas of discoloration and dried grease, a few small dings and scratches in the
wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial no.
66901690, 28 gauge, 27 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight
on the sunken smooth solid rib Boss & Co. type quarter rib, front sling
swivel, import mark under the forend, 1983 dated Italian proof marks,
choke constrictions of .010/.021 inches, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the
coin finished sidelock bar-action which shows vine carving on the fences, light border engraving, “FRANCHI/S-
A-L BRESCIA” in banners on the lockplates, and “SIGISDO CORTE GENOVA” in a banner on the underside. The trigger guard is also marked “S. CORTE/ARMI FINI/GENOVA/(coat of arms)/FORNITORE/DELLA/
REAL CASA”. The gun features bushed firing pins, hidden third fastener, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend and a
straight hand stock with rear sling swivel and horn buttplate. Includes an extra set of 26 3/4 inch 20 gauge barrels with choke constrictions of .018/.033 inches as well as a luggage style takedown case with four snap caps. Stock
measurements: 1 13/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 98% of the professionally reapplied blue finish on the barrels with some discoloration, some dried grease on the coin finish, blue loss on the trigger guard and tang, light handling evidence,
tiny chip behind the upper tang, and crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case and extra barrel set are very fine.

Shotgun - Serial no. 17591, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued
steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, Franchi markings on left tube, band
of engraving at the breech, import mark on under rib, 1981 dated Italian proof marks, choke constrictions of .023/.041 inches,
and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the coin finished sidelock action which shows floral scroll engraving with
“Albatros” on either lockplate and features a single trigger, pierced toplever, right hand rolled trigger guard, and a tang mounted manual safety. The
gun is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with inlaid crest and a straight hand stock with carved drop points, “BR”
in the inscription oval, and a rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 1 13/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 2 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 98% plus original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a few tiny marks on the left tube near the muzzle, some minor spotting on the action, and
crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

stock. Each gun is built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the
raised matted concave solid rib, standard factory markings, 1968 dated Italian proof marks, choke constrictions
of .023/.039 inches, import mark on under rib, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the
casehardened sidelock bar-actions which display a gold pigeon on the toplever and light scroll engraving surrounding “V. BERNARDELLI”
banner on either lockplate and “V. BERNARDELLI-GARDONE V.T.” on the undersides. Each gun features bushed firing pins, hidden third fasteners,
cocking indicators on the lockplates, double triggers (front articulated), and a tang mounted manual safety. Each gun is fitted with a nicely figured
and multi-point checkered forend with lightly engraved iron and “EC” in a silver shield as well as a straight grip stock with horn teardrops at the drop points
factory serrated buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue and casehardened finishes, light handling evidence, and some minor rubbing on the barrels. The wood is very good with some dings and scratches,
varnish loss at the butt/toe, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. B) V. Bernardelli Shotgun - Serial no. 1793-1, 12 gauge, 27 9/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. As
described in “A”. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% original blue finish, 98% original case colors, minor rubs at the muzzle and breech, light handling evidence, and a few tiny freckles of spotting. The wood is very good
with some light dings and scratches, some varnish loss at the butt, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
