1997 and 2010 during Rigby’s time in Paso Robles, California. The rifle features a ramped
beaded blade fore sight with flip-up hood and moon bead, front sling ring on the barrel band
which is engraved “J. Rigby & Co.” on the top, and a three-leaf (one standing, two folding)
express rear sight regulated at 50, 75, and 150 yards with gold inlaid indicators atop the rear
quarter rib which shows “.458 WIN. MAG.” inlaid in gold.
The detachable barrel is fitted to the blued Mauser style controlled round feed action which

bolt shroud with gold inlaid safety indicator, lightly engraved handle, and jewelled bolt body.
The action is mounted with a Leupold 1.5-6x42 mm LPS scope in a set of quick detach mounts.
The magazine floorplate displays attractive scroll engraving with a glower at the center, and a
gold inlaid Gothic “G” is found on the trigger guard which features an inside-the-bow release.

recoil bolts, a scroll engraved blued steel grip cap, rear sling swivel, shadowline cheekpiece,
and a black leather covered recoil pad.
Included is an extra matching numbered and featured barrel (sights regulated 50, 100, and
200 yards) as well as a Leupold 3.5-14x52 mm LPS scope. Also included is a gorgeous oak and
black crocodile leather takedown case which is lined in blue baize with maker’s label on the
interior lid. The case houses the entire set.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with some plum hue discoloration on
the top of the action and otherwise minor handling evidence. The stock is very fine with some
dings and scratches focus on the left side and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The
scopes both have sharp optics. The case and extra barrel are excellent, with wear on the straps.
This would be a great rifle for both plains game and dangerous game on your next safari!
