The upper tang is marked with the three-line model and trademark, while the lower tang has the two-line patent
dates and serial number. The left side of the lower tang is marked with the assembly number “572 XX”, with “572”
repeated in the stock inlet and inside the buttplate. The extra barrel set is marked with the standard two-line
address, additional patent date, and caliber marking at the breech. Both of the barrel sets are fitted with a Marbles
combination front sight with ivory bead, a blank filler in the rear sight dovetails, and there is a combination
peep sight mounted on the upper tang. Both of the barrel sets are mounted with a very finely figured, H-pattern
checkered forearm, while the receiver is mounted with a checkered pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the original blue on the receiver, 30% of the original case colors on the lever
and hammer, and 60% of the original nitre blue on the loading gate, with some mild wear and scattered patches of
light pitting on high spots. Both barrel sets retain 90% plus of the professionally restored blue finish on the barrels
and magazine tube. The wood components are very fine with some scattered minor dings, mostly crisp checkering,
and retaining almost all the original varnish. Mechanically excellent. A rare opportunity to add an attractive
Winchester deluxe Model 1886 rifle with a factory documented extra barrel set to your collection!
