Cased Engraved Staudenmayer Stock Reservoir Air Rifle/Gun Two Barrel
Set - Samuel Henry Staudenmayer (1801-1834) was active at 32 Cockspur St.
and originally apprenticed under John Manton. This cased set includes an
octagonal rifled barrel of approximately .47 caliber with blade and notch
sights and an octagonal to round smoothbore barrel of 28 bore with bead
sight. Each barrel is 31 5/8 inches in length and is signed “Staudenmayer
London” and has its own walnut forearm with silver mounts and wood ramrod
with brass tip. They share a beautiful engraved action with
a “STAUDENMAYER” signed lock, safety and reservoir levers
on the left, and a brown leather bound metal stock reservoir.
They come in a mahogany takedown case with a pump.
Norman R. Blank purchased the set from Jackson Arms on
February 4, 1969, (receipt included).
CONDITION: Fine with mottled gray and brown patina and
mild oxidation/pitting, aged patina on the silver mounts,
re-bound buttstock, and mild overall wear. The action
functions, but the air systems have not been tested. The
relined case is good with mild age and storage related wear.

Engraved and Gold Inlaid Wallis “Flintlock” Ball Reservoir Air
Rifle - George Wallis was a gunmaker in Hull from 1760 to 1803. This
c. 1790 air rifle has a .34 caliber 33 3/8 inch part octagon barrel with
dovetailed blade and notch sights and a gold lined sunken “WALLIS/
HULL” maker’s mark at the breech followed by a gold inlaid band.
The lock has a gold lined sunken “WALLIS” maker’s mark along
with burst and foliate engraving. The rifle has a single set
trigger. The mounts are engraved with foliate and hunting
themed motifs. The walnut stock has a horn forend cap, silver
escutcheons, and a checkered wrist. Includes a
copper reservoir.
CONDITION: Very good with 90% plus of the re-browned
finish remaining on the barrel, bright gold, gray and brown
patina on the balance, cracked barrel tang, and general mild
wear. The stock is good and has some dents and scratches, crisp checkering, and
cracks. The lock functions. The air components have not been tested.
