Very Scarce and Desirable Documented Remington
M24 SWS Sniper Rifle with Accessories - Serial no.
G6534963, 7.62 mm Nato cal., 24 inch bbl., parkerized finish, composite stock.
This M24 SWS sniper rifle was manufactured by Remington Arms Company
c. 2005 and leased by Remington to the U.S. Army for training in 2006. This is a standard configuration
Remington M24 SWS sniper rifle with 24 inch stainless steel barrel, HS composite stock with adjustable buttplate, Leupold Mark 4,
10X40MM, telescopic sight and Harris bipod. The barrel and receiver are fitted with mounts for the auxiliary micrometer rear sight and
globe front sight issued with the rifle. The rifle is complete with a Hardigg fiberglass deployment case that contains: (1) scope and
iron sight case, (2) RPA Trakker micrometer rear sight and globe front sight, (3) unissued russet leather M1907 sling marked “MRT/MAY
08”, (4) Operators’ Manual, (5) Otis lens cleaning kit, and (6) Pelican 1120 Case that contains the cleaning supplies, wrenches and spare
parts issued with every M24 SWS deployment kit. The rifle serial number, “G6534963” is roll-stamped on the left front of the receiver.
The inside of the bolt handle is marked with the partial serial number “4963”. “REMINGTON/MODEL 700 M24” is roll stamped on the left
side of the receiver. The right side of the barrel has the standard Remington date code and oval “REP” proof mark and the left side is
stamped “BA”. The 10X Leupold scope has the standard Mildot aperture and is fitted with a sunshade and Butler Creek lens covers. The
bottom of the scope is roll-stamped with the serial number “327847N”. The rifle, stock and telescopic sight have been spray-painted
with olive green, tan and brown camouflage. Documentation with the rifle indicates that it was one of 16 M24 SWS rifles leased to the
U.S. Army by Remington Arms for 12 months in February 2006 to “train new personnel while awaiting MTOE authorized items through
normal supply channels”. Fifteen of these rifles were shipped to Ft. Riley, Kansas in March 2006. This rifle is accompanied by copies
of the original lease from Remington files. Page 13 of the lease states: “These weapons are for training only and will NOT (emphasis
original) leave the Fort Riley area except for training in CONUS locations”. A shipping manifest in the document package lists the serial
numbers of 15 M24 SWS rifles including “G6534963”. The rifle is accompanied by a letter from the consignor that states he purchased
the rifle while employed by Remington and was able to locate the contract documentation showing the lease from Remington to
the Army in the Remington archives. This is a scarce, fully documented, Remington M24 SWS sniper rifle with the original scope and
correct bipod, deployment case and accessories. The majority of the Army owned M24 SWS rifles were subsequently rebuilt and
modified by Remington to the M24A1 configuration. Following this modification, the Army authorized Remington to fit the original
barrels, stocks, telescopic sights on new production, Remington M24 marked, receivers, and sell the rifles, original deployment kits and
issue accessories on the civilian market. U.S. Army owned M24 SWS rifles with the original receivers are extremely rare.
CONDITION: Very good. This rifle remains in the same standard configuration as when it was leased by Remington to the Army in
2006. It is accompanied by the same deployment kit and accessories provided with the 15 M24 SWS rifles shipped to Ft . Riley. The
camouflage paint was probably applied while the rifle was in Army inventory and shows wear typical of field use. The rifle stock, action
and Leupold scope are completely painted and retain 75% of the camouflage finish with numerous scratches, dents and edge wear.
The telescopic sight optics are clear and the elevation knob moves freely with crisp adjustments. The Hardigg case, scope case, Trakker
sights and accessories all remain in excellent-new condition. The sling remains in the original wrapper. The Harris bipod and mount
show minimal wear. This is a very scarce documented example of an Army used Remington M24 SWS rifle with full deployment kit in
the same configuration as the M2 SWS rifles purchased and issued by the U.S. Army.
