U.S. Marked Remington Model 700 Marine Corps M40A3 Configured
Commercial Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Bipod - Serial no.
G6911693, 7.62x51mm NATO (308) cal., 25 inch heavy round bbl.,
black finish, synthetic stock. Receiver manufactured in Ilion, New
York, c. 21st century, with a “G” prefix serial number that is relatively
close to that of another M40A3 configured rifle (serial number “G6925901”) previously sold by Rock Island Auction Company (reference Auction 84, Lot 688), which was
documented as built up by the U.S. Marine Corps’ Precision Weapons Section of Weapons Training Battalion in Quantico, Virginia, in 2017. Developed by the U.S.M.C. Weapons
Training Battalion from 1996 to 2001, the M40A3 was the second evolution of the Model 700 based M40 bolt action sniper rifle family, and provided some updates over the
aging M40A1 layout. Produced without iron sight provisions, the rifle features a threaded 25 inch heavy barrel, marked “7.62 NATO” on the left side, with a thread protector fitted to the muzzle, a 17-slot
Picatinny rail fitted on top of the receiver, “U.S.” marked on the left of the receiver above the “G” prefix serial number followed by the standard “Remington/Model 700” legend, and a pre-2007 pattern hinged floorplate. Matching
partial “1693” serial number marked on the bolt. The barreled action is bedded to a green McMillan A-4 fiberglass stock with four QD sling sockets, an adjustable cheek riser, adjustable LOP through the use of spacers, two sections
of Velcro tape fitted to the forend with a rubberized bottom grip attachment and right-side mounted nylon two-cell ammunition loop, and a Harris 1A2 Ultralight folding metal bipod fitted to the forend.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally built up to U.S.M.C. M40A3 sniper rifle specifications, retaining 99% original black finish with some light mounting wear on the Picatinny rail, some scattered minor handling marks, and crisp
markings. The stock is exceptionally fine with some scattered light handling wear and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.

Model 700 M24 SWS Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope,
Deployment Kit, and Accessories - Serial no. G7153087, 7.62
Nato cal., 24 inch heavy round bbl., black finish, synthetic stock. Built up in Ilion, New York, c.
2012 utilizing a newly manufacture commercial receiver and surplussed components from Remington’s
M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS) adopted by the U.S. Army in 1988. Remington Defense was allowed to purchase back components stripped from issued M24 rifles (undergoing
upgrades to the XM2010 package), with the removed components then used by the firm to create these limited edition M24 SWS packages, of which less than 2,000 were offered for
the 25th anniversary of the platform (1987-2012). Features mounts near the muzzle and on the receiver for globe front and micrometer
rear sights (not included), an adjustable trigger, “7.62 NATO” marked on the left of the barrel, circled “M” on the right of the barrel and bolt
handle, along with the earlier “G” prefix serial number (later production had “RR” prefix) and “MODEL 700 M24” designation on the left of the
receiver. Matching partial “3087” serial number marked on the underside of the bolt handle. The barreled action is mated to a HS composite
stock system, with an adjustable length-of-pull, a rubber recoil pad, and a Harris SL bipod fitted to the forend. Topped off with a L&S Inc.
Ultra M3A 10x scope (serial number “89 0021” ). Includes a Hardigg Industries green deployment kit hard case fitted to the rifle (marked with
“FT. BENNING, GA”, the U.S. Army Sniper School “snake/arrow” symbol, and “5194” written on the exterior in pink paint marker), containing a
M1907 pattern leather sling, M24 SWS manual, a black hard case fitted for the scope, and a Pelican 1120 hard case containing a spare striker
assembly, spare magazine follower and spring, scope sun shade, scope lens covers, scope mounting tools, cleaning tools, and an Otis cleaning kit.
CONDITION: Excellent as built up by Remington Arms with a new receiver and surplussed M24 SWS components, retaining 98% black Cerakote finish on the barreled action, limited light edge wear, and light handling marks. The
stock is also excellent with light handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. The scope is exceptionally fine with scattered light edge wear, handling marks, and clear optics. The deployment kit case is very fine with retained painted
inventory numbers and some scattered light transport wear. The accessories are very fine to excellent.
