Texas Rangers Marked Springfield Armory Model 1911-A1 Tactical Semi-
Automatic Pistol Attributed to Texas Ranger Captain Clete Buckaloo with
Mammoth Ivory Grips, Badge, and Documents - Serial no. TR037, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., stainless steel finish, ivory grips. Manufactured c. early-2000s, this is
an attractive, Texas Rangers marked Springfield Armory Model 1911-A1 Tactical pistol that is
attributed as belonging to Texas Ranger captain Clete Buckaloo. Included with the pistol is
a gold Texas Rangers type badge marked “CLETE BUCKALOO/CAPTAIN/TEXAS RANGERS” as
well as a photograph of Buckaloo with Shelton Smith holding a cased pistol that looks like
this one (different grips) and a similar looking badge. The pistol has the standard Springfield
Armory 1911-A1 Tactical markings as well as Texas Ranger badges engraved on the left and
right rear of the slide. It is fitted with a set of Novak sights and a pair of mammoth ivory
grips mounted with silver Texas Ranger badges. Also includes an April 2007 copy of “Texas
Monthly” featuring Buckaloo on the cover.
CONDITION: Excellent, with some scattered very light handling evidence overall. The grips are also excellent with the
typical age lines seen with mammoth ivory and otherwise only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Engraved Texas Ranger Carried Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Government Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol with Ivory Grips and Signed Affidavit - Serial no.
37536B70, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, ivory grips. Manufactured in 1980, this
is an attractive example of a custom engraved Colt Government Model pistol that is documented as carried by
a Texas Ranger in the line of duty. An included 2010 dated affidavit signed by Texas Ranger Chris Love states that this pistol
belonged to him and that he carried it in the line of duty. The pistol has near full coverage engraving on its side surfaces which
consists of mostly floral scroll and fan motifs. The engraving has the appearance of possibly being the work of David Wade
Harris. The left side of the slide has the standard three-line series, model, and caliber markings followed by the Rampant Colt,
while the right side of the slide has the model marking. The right side of the frame has the standard one-line address and the
serial number. The barrel has the caliber and series markings in two lines on the chamber hood. It is fitted with blade and notch
sights, as well as a pair of smooth ivory grips mounted with Texas Rangers badges.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom embellished, retains 98% plus of the blue finish with very minimal handling evidence and
crisp engraving throughout. The grips are also very fine with a few faint age lines in the left panel and otherwise only the
slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. An opportunity to own a very attractively embellished Texas Rangers pistol!

David Wade Harris Signed, Engraved Texas Ranger Carried Colt
Mk. IV Series 70 Combat Commander Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Ivory Grips and Documentation - Serial no. 70SC13068, 45
ACP cal., 4 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, ivory grips. Manufactured
in 1972, this is a very attractive example of a Colt Combat Commander
p i s t o l that was engraved by Master Engraver David Wade Harris and carried in the line of
duty by Texas Ranger Sergeant James R. Huggins. An included certificate of authenticity signed
by David Wade Harris details the engraving on this pistols, listing it as full coverage “Ranger Motif”
pattern with a bright nickel finish. The included 1999 dated affidavit signed by Sergeant James
R. Huggins of Company F, Texas Rangers states that this pistol was carried by him from 1998 to 1999 during the
performance of his duties as a member of Company F based in Centerville, Texas. Also included is an authorization
to carry a non-issued firearm, which lists this pistol by serial number. Huggins joined the Texas Department of Public
Safety in 1982, initially working as part of the Texas Highway Patrol’s Criminal Investigation Division. He was promoted to the
Texas Rangers in 1996, specializing in hypnosis, polygraph examination, blood spatter analysis, shooting incident reconstruction,
and death investigation. He retired from the Rangers in 2011 and has since become a lecturer of forensic sciences at Baylor
University. The pistol features full coverage engraving by David Wade Harris primarily made up of floral scroll and fan motifs, as
well as a Texas Rangers badge on top of the slide and “CoF” on the mainspring housing. The left side of the slide has the standard
model, trademark, and caliber markings, follower by the Rampant Colt, while the right has the model marking. The one-line address and serial number are
marked on the right side of the frame. The chamber hood of the barrel is marked “COLT.45 AUTO”. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, as well as a pair of
smooth ivory grips mounted with silver Texas Rangers badges at the center of each panel. Includes some other copies of documents related to Huggins.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 98% plus of the nickel finish with minimal handling evidence and crisp engraving throughout. The grips are excellent
with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. A documented, David Wade Harris engraved, Texas Ranger carried Colt Combat
Commander!
