engraving at the breech,
1974 dated Spanish proof
marks, import mark on flat, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened sideclipped sidelock
bar-action which displays near full coverage English style bouquet and scroll engraving with “AGUIRE/Y/ARANZABAL/EIBAR” marked
on the underside. The gun features a hidden third fastener, bushed firing pins, right hand rolled trigger guard, gold centerlined cocking
indicators, double triggers, and an automatic tang safety with gold indicator. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-
point checkered beavertail forend with engraved iron and a straight hand stock with teardrop carved drop points and a checkered bare butt.
Includes a second matching 28 inch barrel set with gold “2” at the base as well as a maker’s leather flat case and a set of snap caps. Barrel measurements for set “2” (R/L):
bore diameter nine inches from the breech proofed and measured at 18.5 mm (.728 inches); choke constriction .017/.039 inches; minimum wall thickness .032/.029 inches.

CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence and
sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel is excellent. The case is very fine.

Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 36753, 12 gauge, 27 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
stock. Built with blued steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single brass bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which
is marked “LEADER”, band of engraving at the breech, factory and importer marks on the right and left tubes respectively, 1990
dated Spanish proofs on the flats, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished hand detachable
sidelock bar-action with Holland & Holland type self-opening mechanism under the forend and scroll engraving around game scenes depicting a pair of pointers and a pheasant cock on the
left, a mallard on the underside, and a setter flushing mallards on the right. The gun features bushed firing pins, hidden third fastener, double triggers, right hand rolled trigger guard, and a tang mounted
automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved iron and an Anson button pushrod release as well as a straight grip stock with tear drop carved drop
points and a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed and measured 18.5 mm (.728 inches); choke constriction .019/.038 inches;
minimum wall thickness .026/.028 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, some dried grease on the action, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Dried grease in the action
causing hang-ups; otherwise, mechanically functions.

gauge, 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring
a single bead sight on the “Churchill” style raised flat
matted rib which is marked with a gold “AYA” and “2” at the base,
factory marking on right tube, 1991 dated Spanish proof marks on the flats, import mark under
forend, choke constrictions of .008/.015 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a
casehardened hand detachable sidelock action which displays near full coverage floral and scroll engraving with
“AGUIRRE Y ARANZABAL” banner on the underside and a gold “2” on the blued toplever. The gun features bushed firing
pins, a single selective trigger, gold centerline cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold “S” indicator. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with
engraved iron and a gold “2” on the Deeley release as well as a straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, “WAS” in gold inlaid directly into the wood, and a checkered bare butt. The initials in the stock are for famed South
African author Wilbur Smith. Included is a second matching numbered 25 inch barrel set with a gold inlaid “1” at the base and choke constrictions of .002/.002 inches as well as a leather flat case that contains the set along with an
extra set of locks and cleaning tools. the case is fitted with Wilbur Smith’s tags. Stock measurements: 1 1/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, 70% original casehardened finish with the balance a fine grey, some scattered spotting, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The
case and extra barrels are very fine.
