no. 88134, 45-70 WCF cal., 26 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Originally manufactured in 1894, this highly
attractive Winchester Model 1886 rifle was subsequently

CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the blue finish and vibrant case colors with some light muzzle wear, some scattered light handling marks, and crisp
engraving. There is a moderate beveled dent in the upper left edge of the muzzle. The wood is fine with some minor dings, a few light chips near the upper
tang, well-defined checkering, and the recoil pad hardened with age. Mechanically excellent. An attractively upgraded example of Winchester’s Model 1886
in the highly desirable .45-70 W.C.F.!

Attractive Gold Inlaid Game Panel Scene Engraved Antique Winchester Model 1892
Lever Action Carbine in .44 W.C.F. - Serial no. 17765, 44 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut stock. Originally manufactured in 1893, this is a very attractive, beautifully
upgraded, gold inlaid, and engraved Winchester Model 1892 carbine. Made in the
second year of production, this Model 1892 carbine was later highly embellished, very
much in the style of Winchester factory engraver Angelo J. Stokes, who engraved for the
factory for a short time in the early 20th century. The receiver features a panel scene
on both sides, the left showing a dog chasing a buck, and the right side showing a
lone buck, with all the animals gold inlaid and having highly detailed fur. The panel
scenes are surrounded by floral scroll engraving and decorative borders, and there are
flourishes of scroll on the lever and the barrel. The upper left of the barrel is marked
with the two-line address and patent dates, as well as the caliber marking at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three-
line model, trademark, and patent date. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver, and the left side of the upper and
lower tangs are marked “410028”. It is fitted with a pinned Marble beaded blade front sight and a folding ladder rear sight. The wood has
been upgraded with a later factory pattern, highly figured, and checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber
shotgun buttplate with the Winchester logo at the center.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as upgraded, retains 98% plus of the custom high polish blue finish and essentially all of the gold inlay with only the slightest handling
marks and crisp engraving overall. The wood is also exceptionally fine with a couple very light chips at the edges near the tangs of the receiver and otherwise only the
slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
