It has standard markings along with Levack’s initials “J.G.L” engraved in script on the right of the
receiver and “Jim Levack” engraved in script on the buttplate. The left side of the lower tang and toe of
the buttplate are marked “809”. Fitted with pinned blade front and folding ladder rear sights. Mounted
with a finely figured, checkered, curly maple forearm and stock with a carbine buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 98% period applied chrome plating on the receiver and 80% original blue
finish on the barrel and magazine with the balance mostly a plum brown patina, primarily on the
lever and buttplate. The wood is very good with minor dings and scratches scattered throughout,
well-defined checkering, and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. A very attractive
and historic Winchester exhibition shooting attributed carbine to add to your collection!
