Consecutive Pair of Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. 20 Gauge A-10 Over/Under Shotguns with Case -A) Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. A-10 Shotgun - Serial no. A10-002058, 20 gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl., blue/ coin/gold finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with single red bead sight on the matted vent rib which is marked with a gold inlaid “3” at the base, standard factory markings, interchangeable choke system (skeet 1/improved cylinder installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin grey finished hand detachable sidelock action displays wonderful panel game scene engraving showing six separate highly detailed scenes which are surrounded by deep cut floral engraving as well as gold inlaid accents around the bouquets. The underside of the action shows a trio of woodcocks in flight in a forested scene, the trigger guard has a single grouse, and the lockplates have two matching scenes showing a pair of ruffed grouse in flight over a field and a single grouse taking off from a branch mirrored on either plate. The engraving extends to both tangs and the toplever which is inlaid with a gold “3”. The gun features a single gold trigger, carved fences, and a tang mounted safety/selector switch. Beautiful highly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a gold “3” on the shoe as well as a Deeley latch release. The stock is equally beautiful with the same checkering, engraved coin gripcap, and coin heel and toe plates around a checkered bare butt. This pair is consecutively numbered to the previous and following lots, each of which contains two magnificent shotguns numbered 1 and 2, and, 5 and 6.
