Consecutive Pair of Factory Engraved Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. 28 Gauge A-10 Over/Under Shotguns with Case -A) Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. A-10 Shotgun - Serial no. A10-002060, 28 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/grey finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with single red bead sight on the matted vent rib which is marked with a gold inlaid “5” at the base, standard factory markings, interchangeable choke system (improved cylinder/skeet 1 installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin grey finished hand detachable sidelock action displays fabulous panel game scene engraving showing five separate highly detailed scenes. The left lockplate displays a pointer flushing a pair of quail from the tall grass, the left of the receiver shows a pheasant in flight over a field, the underside shows the bust of a retriever, the right lockplate has a retriever flushing a pair of pheasant in an upland setting, and the right of the receiver has a mirror image from the left opposite. The areas not covered by game scenes are adorned with floral and scroll engraving, including the trigger guard, tangs, and toplever which is also marked with a gold “5”. The gun features a single gold trigger, carved fences, and a tang mounted safety/selector switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a gold “5” on the shoe as well as a Deeley latch release. The stock is equally beautiful with the same checkering, engraved coin gripcap, and coin skeleton buttplate over a checkered bare butt.
