Very Fine Devel/Smith & Wesson Model 59 Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. A359469, 9 mm para cal.,
3 1/2 inch round bbl., hard chrome finish, plastic grips.
Manufactured in 1970-1980. Converted by
gunsmith Charles Kelsey, the Devel “Full-
House” conversion features recessed front sight
with red insert, adjustable rear sight, fluted slide,
shortened grip, shortened frame, 3 1/2 inch barrel
with polished feed ramp and chamber, Devel
barrel bushing installed to improve accuracy, Wolff
springs throughout, relieved trigger guard area
with finger hook, bobbed hammer, flat plastic
grips with cartridge counting windows and
“DEVEL” logos, and finger rest magazine floor
plate. This example has the optional dull hard
chrome finish. This Model 59 Devel conversion
is numbered “227” to the right of the original serial number. Includes a letter from Devel pertaining to the modification of pistols, a Devel order sheet for the pistol, leather magazine carrier, and two extra magazines. CONDITION: Excellent as converted by Charles Kelsey, retaining 97% hard chrome finish with handling marks and some deep dings on the backstrap. Mechanically excellent. Magazine pouch is very fine with some flex wear. Estimate: 6,500 - 8,500

Desirable Devel Conversion Smith & Wesson Model 39
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 800036, 9 mm para cal., 3
1/2 inch round bbl., satin nickel finish, walnut grips. Converted
by gunsmith Charles Kelsey, this Devel conversion features a
fixed front sight with red insert, adjustable rear sight, satin nickel finish, 3 1/2
inch barrel, polished feed ramp and chamber, shortened slide with fixed barrel
bushing to improve accuracy, shortened frame, single stack magazine with finger
hook on the floor plate, and bobbed hammer. Standard checkered S&W walnut grips with
“DEVEL” emblem added. This Model 39 Devel conversion is numbered “B101” to the right of the
original serial number.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded by Charles Kelsey, retaining 97% satin nickel finish with a
few minor handling marks. Grips are fine with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Action Revolver - Serial no. N769413, 44 Magnum cal., 6 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1980. Standard markings with A style (75% coverage) floral scrollwork engraving on the barrel, frame, cylinder, and trigger
guard. Fitted with Fred Ownbey high figure walnut grips. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks, a cylinder
drag line, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,500

Factory Engraved Smooth Grip Strap Smith & Wesson Model 59 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. A170739, 9 mm para cal., 4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1971/72. The pistol is one of 100 manufactured
with smooth grip straps. This pistol features factory Class “C” coverage floral scroll engraving
and original S&W
monogram grips. Includes
original box with end label listing the engraving.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with minimal handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine with limited storage and handling marks. A very rare early production smooth strap Model 59 with the added bonus of being factory engraved!

CONDITION: Very fine with scattered handling marks, a few dings on the underside of the barrel, a cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with storage and handling marks and a split corner.

Cased Factory A Plus Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 24-3 Double Action Revolver - Serial no. ABZ0135, 44 special cal., 6 1/2 solid rib bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1983. This revolver is one of the first one hundred Model 24-3 Model of 1950 .44 Target Reintroduction revolvers. This revolver features Patridge blade front and adjustable rear sights as well as near full coverage floral scroll and wavy line engraving. According the “Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson” by Supica & Nahas states that the first one hundred revolvers in this model were factory “A Plus” engraved with only twenty-five being finished in nickel. Included with the revolver is a wood case with a brass plaque on the lid reading “SMITH & WESSON/MODEL 24/.44 SPECIAL/1 OF 25/FACTORY/ A PLUS ENGRAVED” and blue velvet interior. Also included is a factory screwdriver and cleaning tools.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original nickel finish with limited handling marks a cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving. Grips are very fine with a few scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is very good.
