Scarce and Desirable Beretta AR70 Sport Semi-Automatic Rifle with Case - Serial no. M34394,
222 Rem cal., 17 1/2 inch round bbl., black finish, synthetic stock. The original rifles were developed
by Beretta in the late 1960s for the Italian Army. They were the equivalent to the M16A2 rifles; however, they use a
piston driven gas system and not the gas impingement system. With the interest in the Colt AR-15 rifles during the early 1970s, very few of these rifles
were actually imported to the United States. The left side of the receiver is marked “BERETTA-PATENTED-MADE IN ITALY/Mod. 70 SPORT/.222R”. This rifle features a two position, adjustable rear sight with a post front sight similar to the early AR-15s. The top of the receiver is fitted with a scope rail, and it has a synthetic stock and forearm with a ribbed synthetic grip. Includes Beretta hard case and extra magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original black finish with scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good with storage and handling marks and a broken central latch.
Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000
