Rare and Desirable Early Production Devine, Texas Built Springfield Armory M1A Semi-Automatic Rifle with ART I Sniper Scope and Can - Serial no. 000650, 7.62x51 Nato cal., 22 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This is a very early commercial M1A semi- automatic rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory out of Devine, Texas, during the Vietnam War era for commercial target shooting using surplus G.I. parts under the ownership of Elmer Ballance prior to the company name being sold to Bob Reese in 1974 and moved to Geneseo, Illinois. The heel of the receiver is marked “U.S. RIFLE/7.62-mm M1A/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY(T)/000650” in five lines. “DEVINE TEX”
marked underneath the front end of the barrel. It is equipped with an original Vietnam issue ART I sniper scope, mount and an original alloy scope can. These ART scopes were originally issued on M21 sniper rifles, which are accurized M14 NM rifles. They have an auto ranging mount and scope reticle that was calibrated for 100-1000 meters. “NM 062” marked front sight, “NM” rear sight with “595” peep, Saco-Lowell “SKA” marked “8-65” dated standard weight chrome lined M14 barrel, “SA” M14 bolt assembly, “HR” M14 trigger housing, “OM” M14 hammer, “H&R” M14 safety, and “SAK” operating rod. It has a standard front and rear sight set. It is currently fitted in an M14E2 type hardwood stock with a perforated brown plastic handguard. A boxed D.O.D. eagle acceptance cartouche is marked on the left wrist of the stock featuring a front folding foregrip and hinged buttplate with the heavy buttpad. The included Redfield/AR TEL 3-9X scope is marked with the “7.62 MM/M-118NM” nomenclature on the adjustment ring, “SER NO 1562” on the left of the adjustment knob base, and “5496” on the single-thumbscrew mounting bracket. Also includes a green painted G.I. alloy ART scope case hand numbered to the scope and rifle, M2 folding bipod, and olive drab green canvas sling. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% original parkerized finish with very light cycling wear. Stock is also excellent with defined edges, some light handling marks, moderate gouges on either side of the forend from the bipod legs rubbing, and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very fine with some light scratches and handling marks on the tube, the auto-ranging mechanism functions excellent, and the optics are clear. LOT 3599 Heckler & Koch SP5 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box and Case - Serial no. 271-010837, 9 mm para cal., 9 inch round bbl., black finish, polymer grips. Manufactured in 2021. Standard markings and features. Includes its matching shipping box, H&K soft case, and an extra magazine. Consecutively serial numbered with (LOT 585). CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original black finish with minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,000 LOT 3600 Scoped SIG Sauer 716-G2 Semi-Automatic Rifle with Case - Serial no. 22P002774, 308 Win cal., 16 inch round bbl., FDE finish, synthetic stock. Manufactured as a 7.62 NATO variant of the SIG Sauer 516 family of rifles. This example is fitted with a full length handguard, adjustable gas block, ambidextrous controls and charging handle, and a B5 stock. Fitted with a SIG Sauer Tango 6 3-18x44 scope. Includes a SIG Sauer hard case. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original FDE finish with limited handling marks and crisp grip texturing. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics and a crisp reticle. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
LOT 3601 Two Thousand Semi-Automatic Rifle with Case - Serial no. 556-0111, 5.56x45 mm cal., 16 inch round bbl., black finish, synthetic stock. Manufactured with a birdcage flash hider, adjustable gas system, hooded front and diopter drum rear sights, folding stock, and standard markings as well as “One of Two Thousand” on the left of the lower receiver. Includes SIG Sauer case and shipping box. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original black finish with limited handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Pre-Ban Valmet M76 Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 162188, 5.56x45 mm cal., 16 inch round bbl., black finish, metal stock, plastic grips. Manufactured from 1976 to 1986. Hooded post front sight with a flip up night sight and adjustable peep rear sight, three-prong flash hider with bayonet lug, standard markings on the receiver, checkered forearm and grip, and folding tubular buttstock.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% original black finish with limited handling marks, some high edge wear, and some scratches in the rubber stock wrap. Mechanically excellent.
