NOTICE THE LEFT BREECH OF THE BARREL IS MARKED WITH ORDNANCE INSPECTOR INITIALS "EAW"
CONDITION: Excellent, nearly as issued with a coat of old dried oil, retains 97% original blue finish on the barrel with light bayonet wear. Retains 95% plus vivid original case colors. Markings and edges in the metal are distinct. Wood is also excellent with attractive original raised grain and rich oil finish, a scratch on the right of the forend, a crack on either side of the butt, some light handling marks, and defined edges. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet is excellent with scattered light surface freckling, Spencer manual is good with age related wear and some holes. This extraordinary example of a Spencer Model 1865 rifle would make an excellent addition to any antique American U.S. Military firearms collection!
