Exceptional Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver with Scarce Factory Box - Serial no. 74730, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., nickel/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1875, the top of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses while the left of the frame is marked “22 CAL”. The serial number is marked on the butt, bottom of the barrel, and in pencil on the inside of each grip. It is fitted with smooth walnut grips. Includes a scarce factory box marked for “COLT’S/SEVEN SHOT PISTOL”, cleaning rod, and a plain modern box labeled for the gun.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original nickel finish and strong traces of the original silver with the balance mostly an attractively aged brass and strong niter blue on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with some light wear on high spots and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with nice label, moderate wear and some tape repairs.

Early Production Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver with Scarce Long Barrel and Box - Serial no. 955, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1871, the top of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses. The serial number is marked on the butt, with the matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel and faintly marked inside each of the grips
in ink. Includes a scarce factory box marked for “COLT’S/SEVEN SHOT PISTOL” and a plain modern box labeled to match the gun.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 70% of the bright original high polish blue finish with the balance mostly a smooth brown patina and a patch of light pitting on the left of the barrel, and strong traces of the original silver finish with the balance an attractively aged brass. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with moderate wear and flaking.
