Large Ornately Relief
Chiseled and Gold Inlaid Caucasian Qama/”Cossack” Dagger

Attractive Extensively Engraved and Enameled Caucasian Qama/”Cossack” Dagger with Scabbard - This is a beautifully enameled example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as “Cossack” daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 20 7/8 inches overall and a 15 1/8 inch spearpoint blade with a single fuller on one side and a double on the other, both centered. The hilt is extensively engraved with floral patterns throughout, multicolor enamel filled throughout, and mounted with pink glass gem stones. The extensive floral engraving continues on the included scabbard, covering almost the entire surface, and featuring the same multicolored enamel finish and an additional pink gem stone centered on the outer surface.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, the blade showing a bright polished appearance with a few scattered spots of light surface oxidation and retaining almost all of the vibrant enamel finish with generally only light wear. Provenance: The Dr. Gerald Klaz Collection.

Attractive, Ornate, Silver Plated and Gilt Caucasian Qama/”Cossack” Dagger with Scabbard - This is an incredibly crafted example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as “Cossack” daggers, due to the famous Caucasian horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 20 3/8 inches overall and a 15
1/4 inch spearpoint blade with double fullers centered on each side of the blade. The hilt is fitted with horn grip panels, the outside panel being almost completely covered by a masterfully engraved, silver inlaid, and gilt embellished panel showing floral motifs and vine patterns. Matching finishes and floral motifs continue on the outer surface of the included scabbard with the backside partially skeletonized showing a panel of leather beneath.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, the blade mostly bright with a few scattered patches of light surface pitting, retaining most of the silver and gilt finishes, the silver showing an attractively aged patina, and some generally light wear.

Attractive Ornately Enameled and Silver Plated Caucasian Qama/”Cossack” Dagger with Scabbard - This is a beautifully embellished example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as “Cossack” daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 14 1/4 inches overall and a 9 3/4 inch spearpoint blade with a double fuller on the outside and a single on the inside, all of which run approximately 3/4 of the length of the blade. The outside of the blade is also stamped with “(*)” and four unrecognizable characters. The hilt appears to be brass and is extensively engraved, silver plated, and decorated with multicolored enamel in the floral patterns. The same floral patterns and multicolored enamel cover the entire outer surface of the included scabbard and the interior surface is silver plated with blued floral designs. CONDITION: Very fine, the blade mostly bright with a few scattered patches of surface oxidation, mainly near the tip, and retaining most of the attractively aged silver plating and bright enamel on both the hilt and scabbard. with Scabbard - This is a masterfully crafted example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as “Cossack” daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 21 1/2 inches overall and a 15 1/2 inch spearpoint blade with a ridged centerline on each side of the blade. The base of the blade has been extensively inlaid with gold Arabesque vine patterns on both sides. The hilt is masterfully relief chiseled with floral patterns throughout, silver plated, and a castle on the rear side of the pommel. Similar patterns are relief chiseled on the scabbard, which is also silver plated, including an additional castle.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, the blade mostly a bright grey with a few scattered patches of light surface pitting, retaining almost all of the gold inlay, and a thin layer of applied protective varnish. The silver plating generally shows an attractively aged patina on both the hilt and scabbard with minimal wear on both.

Two Ornate Caucasian Style Qama/”Cossack” Daggers with Scabbards - This grouping includes two similar looking Caucasian style qama daggers, also commonly referred to as “Cossack” daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. Both of these examples have extensive engraving and silver inlays on both the hilts and scabbards, mostly featuring floral motifs. One has an engraved blade that features floral designs and what appears to be a Russian imperial eagle. One measures 18 1/4 inches overall and the other measures 18 1/2 inches overall.
CONDITION: Both are very fine, with the blades mostly bright and the silver showing an attractively aged patina overall and mostly mild wear.
