Outstanding World War II U.S. Union Switch & Signal Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. 1044342, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., Dulite finish, plastic grips. In May of 1942 the U.S. government initially placed
an order with Union Switch & Signal Co. for 200,000 Model 1911A1 pistols, an order which was later revised to 55,000 pistols. This pistol
was likely manufactured early to mid-1943. The slide is marked with the “USS” monogram and “U.S. & S. CO./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.” on the left side,
with a Robert Downie “R.C.D.” on the left of the frame, and standard U.S. government nomenclature on the right. The full blue barrel is marked “S” and
“P” on the left of the lug. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, thin checkered hammer, short stamped trigger, long grip safety, arched
checkered mainspring housing with lanyard loop, Keyes Fiber checkered grips, and a full blue “L” marked magazine. Includes an original Kraft style shipping box, two extra magazines in factory style wax paper wrap, and three .45 ACP cartridges.
CONDITION: Excellent plus nearly as issued, retains 99% of the original Dulite finish with some scattered light handling/takedown marks. The grips are excellent with a couple very light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with some mild wear.

Excellent 1913 Production U.S. Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 19574,
45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1913, the second year of production for the U.S. contract Colt Model 1911 pistol. It is listed on p. 515 of
“U.S. Military Automatic Pistols: 1894-1920” by Ellis/Meadows as being included in a 500 gun shipment to Rock Island Arsenal on 21 January 1913. The serial number is marked on the right of the frame above the trigger guard and the left side has the U.S. property marking and the “WGP” inspection mark. The slide has the two-line, two-block patent dates and address on the
left with the circled Rampant Colt behind the slide serrations and the model and army nomenclature on the right. The full blue barrel is marked “5” on the bottom and “H” on the rear edge of the chamber hood. It has blade front and the correct early round- top notch rear sight, which were beginning to be phased out in 1913. It is fitted with a long smooth trigger, checkered slide release and thumb safety, short grip safety, wide checkered hammer, and a smooth straight mainspring housing with a lanyard loop on the
base. The grips are diamond pattern checkered and the magazine is two- tone with a lanyard loop on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the bright original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, mostly on the front edges of the slide and the grip straps, and a light takedown mark. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
