Cased H.B. Jarvis Signed Factory Engraved Smith & Wesson .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1955 Pre-Model 25 Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

Factory Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 582 Double Action Revolver - Serial no. AAC3651, 357 magnum cal., 6 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured between 1980 and 1999. The revolver is marked with a “Diamond B” stamp beneath the ejector star with a “382” refinish date. This refinish date is likely when the revolver received its near full coverage floral scroll and geometric
engraving. The revolver features otherwise standard markings and features.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus factory refinished blue finish with
limited handling marks, a faint cylinder drag line, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent.

grips. The included factory letter
lists this revolver as having a
6 inch barrel, blue finish, and
synthetic grips when shipped to
Lew Horton Distributing Company
on November 29, 1995. The letter
further states the embellishment
on the revolver was done by the
distributor as the revolver had
nothing extra when it left. An attached note states the engraving was done
by either Lambert Engraving
or Baron Technologies. The side
plate is marked “001 of 100” among the engraving.
CONDITION: Excellent
overall, retaining 99% plus
original blue finish, faint
cylinder drag line, and crisp
engraving. Mechanically
excellent.

blue finish, rosewood grips. The
included factory letter lists this revolver as having rosewood target stocks, red ramp front and white outline rear sights, and Class A engraving when shipped to H.H. Harris & Company in Chicago, Illinois, on April 3, 1956. The frame is signed “H.B. Jarvis” on the left side below the cylinder. This revolver is also equipped with a rarely seen factory “W” mainspring. Includes a transitional mahogany case with end label listing the sight, Class “A” engraving by Jarvis, and shipment to H.H. Harris and company containing a cleaning rod, bore brushes, and screwdriver.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and a faint cylinder drag line. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine with a few light storage, some wear to the lining, and handling marks and a hairline crack on the bottom. A very rare factory engraved and signed Pre-Model 25. Chief’s Special Target Pre-Model
36 Double Action Revolver with
Scrimshawed Grips and Gold Plated Cylinder - Serial
no. 57888, 38 S&W special cal., 2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
gold finish, walnut stock, carved grips. Manufactured in
1955/56 in rare target sight configuration and subsequently
upgraded to its current configuration. Ramped front sight blade with
leaf engraving on the solid rib barrel, adjustable rear sight, and jeweled
hammer. The frame is engraved with near full coverage scroll engraving
over a matted background with “TWB” at the top of the smooth back
strap and the gold plated cylinder displays leaf and line engraving. The grips are scrimshawed with floral scroll and are marked “TWB” by hand inside the right panel. The trigger guard has been cut in the style of the famous “Fitz Special” Colt’s for faster trigger acquisition. Only about 500 chief special target models were manufactured in the 1959-1957 period.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with minor 310 handling evidence, a few age lines in the grips, and crisp engraving. Mechanically excellent.
