CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Retains 97% nickel plated finish on frame, barrel, and trigger guard assembly with a few small patches of light pitting. Retains strong traces of the retailer applied gold plated finish on the ejector housing, cylinder, and hammer, strongest on the flutes of the cylinder
and in protected areas. Half of the nitre blue
finish remains on the trigger, and most of the screws retain nearly all their attractive nitre blue finish. The very high quality New York engraving
is crisp and deep. The serial numbers and factory markings are sharp. Grip is slightly undersized, very fine with defined edges, some scattered minor nicks, and highly attractive grains. Mechanically functions perfectly, and the action is crisp. This is an exceptional example of a rare, L. D. Nimschke New York Master Engraved, gold and nickel plated black powder Colt Single Action Army revolver!
