Cogswell & Harrison London Retailer Inscribed and Cased Colt Etched Panel New Line .41 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 7634, 41 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, antique ivory grips. Manufactured in 1877. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt Hartford address and the left side of the barrel has the desirable etched panel marked “COLT NEW 41”. The right side of the barrel has the retailer inscription “COGSWELL & HARRISON/142 NEW BOND St LONDON.” There are London proof marks on the underside of the barrel and each cylinder flute. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel. The left side
of the frame is marked “41CAL C” for centerfire. It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips. Includes an oak presentation case with Cogswell & Harrison interior label, cleaning rod, screwdriver, key, and oiler.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% plus of the original blue on
the barrel and 50% of the original case colors, the balance a smooth grey patina. The cylinder shows a mixture of refinished blue and grey patina. The attractive grips are very fine with a few scattered hairline cracks and otherwise minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some light handling/
storage evidence.

Cased British E.M. Reilly Retailer Inscribed Colt Third
Model “Thuer” Derringer with Case - Serial no. 39247, 41
RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips
These derringers were introduced in 1870, manufactured
until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of
the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and “COLT” in large
italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British
proofs. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame along
with a “C” and Rampant Colt. The right side of the frame is
retailer inscribed “E.M. REILLY & Co. LONDON.” It is fitted
with a pair of smooth grips that are each hand numbered
“247” on the inside. Includes an earlier produced
replacement leatherette wrapped case with a large silver
plaque on the lid that is inscribed “Presented to/PERCY
H. POUND/ON HIS 21st BIRTHDAY/by the heads of the/
various departments/of JOHN POUND & Co./August 11 1891”. John Pound & Co. was a luxury luggage retailer in London that is still in operation today.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original nickel finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are also very fine with some light chipping/hairline cracks near the edges. Mechanically excellent. The earlier production replacement case is fine with some light handling/storage wear.

London Agency Cased Retailer Engraved Colt New Line .22 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 18659, 22 RF cal.,
2 1/4 inch slab sided bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. Manufactured in 1876 with the standard two-line address on top of the barrel, “COLT NEW 22” on the left in an etched panel, patent date on the bottom, and serial number on
the butt. It was engraved by a period retailer with flourishes
of floral scroll and geometric patterns after being received
from Colt. It otherwise has standard features as well as a pair
of smooth grips. Includes a leatherette wrapped case with a Colt London Agency interior label.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% of the period retailer applied nickel finish with the
balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the cylinder, some scattered light surface oxidation, and crisp engraving. The slightly undersize grips are very good with some scattered light handling marks and an attractively aged tone. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some very light handling/storage wear. Estimate: 1,200 - 1,600

manufactured from 1880 to 1886, with this example
produced in 1882. The top of the barrel has the two-line
Hartford address, the “COLT HOUSE 38” etched panel is on the left, and the patent date on the bottom. There are British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. The top strap is engraved “WATSON BROs/4 PALL MALL. LONDON.” on either side of the sighting groove. It has standard features and the serial number is marked on the butt, with “006” on the rear face of the cylinder. It is fitted with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with “COLT” in ovals at the tops and the serial number faintly stamped on the butt of the left panel. Includes an oak case with Watson Bros. retailer label
nside the lid, screwdriver, cleaning rod, oiler, key, and six .38 CF cartridges.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 40% of the original nickel finish with some mild flaking scattered throughout, revealing a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are very fine with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some scattered light handling/storage marks.

- Serial no. 13741, 38 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. This pair of revolvers were manufactured in 1876 and 1877. The top of

ine address, the left sides have the etched panel marked “COLT NEW 32”, and
he bottoms have British
proofs. The cylinders both also have British proofs. Both
on the left of the frame. They both have standard features and are fitted with a pair of smooth hardwood grips. Includes a leatherette wrapped hard case with a broad arrow symbol stamped on the lid and “MADE IN ENGLAND” stamped on an inside edge and ten .38 RF cartridges. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% of the original nickel finish with a few scattered patches of light flaking/surface pitting and a crisp etched panel. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some light handling/storage wear. B) Colt New Line .32 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 12196, 32 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. See “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original nickel fine with a few scattered patches of very light surface pitting and a crisp etched panel. The grips are also excellent with some scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
