The partial serial number “7771” is stamped on the loading lever, and “771” is stamped on the arbor pin. The revolver is complete with a mahogany French-fitted case with red velvet lining. The case has scalloped brass reinforcements on the corners of the lid and brass bands on the sides. A brass plate inlaid in the lid is engraved with the initials “CA”. The case contains 31 caliber lead balls, brass straight leg 1849 Pocket Model bullet mold with “COLTS/PATENT” stamped across the face of both blocks
and the small letter “S” stamped on the left block (COLT ACCOUTERMENTS, by Robin Rapley, M#17, page 124), blue L-shaped combination nipple wrench/screwdriver, and an unmarked bottle shaped powder flask with a brown lacquer body, gold plated brass top, fixed charger and nitre blue spring.
