is “P./No. 4.” on the trigger guard tangs. However, a photograph included with the pistols shows the Maastricht double headed eagle markings on the bottom of the barrels at the breech. The multi-stage barrels are smoothbore and also have light engraving

Fine Pair of 18th Century Dutch
“Wender” Swivel Breech Double Barrel Flintlock Pistols -A) Swivel Breech
at the breech. The back action rounded locks and furniture also have light floral scroll engraving.
The side plates have pierced scrolling designs inhabited by two figures. The stocks are walnut and are relief carved with
tendrils of scrollwork around the barrel tangs. The barrels have walnut tillets running their entire length, one side
housing the ramrod.
CONDITION: Fine with mostly silver-gray patina, some faint
pitting, worn engraving, and mild overall wear. The refinished wood is also fine and has some minor flakes at the edges, a few faint cracks, and generally light overall wear. Mechanically fine. CONDITION: Fine with silver-gray patina, some minor pitting, braised repair on the trigger guard tang, some areas of faded engraving,
and general mild overall wear. The refinished wood is also fine and has gaps at the pommel, some small chips at the edges, a few minor cracks, and general mild wear. Mechanically fine.
