Outstanding German Mauser Banner Commercial Contract Production “1939” Dated Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Akah Holster and Extra Magazine - Serial no. 6043W, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. Fixed sights, with a “1939” dated
chamber, Mauser “Banner” on the front toggle link, and “crown/crown/U” commercial proofmarks on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The major components are finished in blue, with straw colored small parts, checkered grips, and blue finished
magazines with alloy bases. Both included magazines, the extractor and the grip panels are unnumbered, otherwise numbers are matching overall. Included with the lot is a black leather Albrecht Kind holster with a faint ink stamp inside the lid and a blued takedown tool.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, with 99% plus original blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall, and bright straw colors are present on the small parts. The grips are also excellent plus, with minor dings and stains on the crisp checkering, and the holster is excellent with mild scuffs and cracks. Mechanically excellent.

Desirable German Mauser Persian Contract Model 1934 Artillery Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Shoulder Stock and Holster - NSN, 9 mm Luger cal., 8 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. A very fine example of one of only 1,000 “lange” barrel or artillery model Luger pistols ordered by the Persian government in 1934. This contract was fulfilled from 1935-1936 and also included 1,006 4 inch barreled Lugers. These pistols exhibit the same high quality fit and finish exhibited by other Mauser-made Lugers and truly show their willingness to please their customers through the personalized crests and complete set of Farsi markings. The chamber area is marked with the Persian “crown/lion/sunburst” crest, a “crown/crown/U” proof on the left of the barrel extension, and the remainder of the markings in Farsi. 2,000 Luger pistols were ordered by the Persian Government in 1934. Only 1,000 were produced with the artillery length barrel.

many components, a mixed magazine and an unnumbered barrel with British proofs on the underside. Additional Brit “crown/letter” proofs are present, though faint, on the toggle assembly, with a “crown/GP” on the right side of the receiver. Included with the pistol is a hardwood shoulder stock with an unnumbered iron, an unmarked brown leather flap holster, takedown tool and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Very fine, with 80% plus blue finish, showing bright edge wear, scattered handling marks, a brown patina forming on the gripstraps and mild spotting. 50% of the straw color is present on the small parts, the remainder having turned a gray patina. The grips are fine, with minor chipping on the top edge of the left panel, dings and dark
spots. The stock is fine, with mild dents on the wood and cracking and scuffing on the straps. The holster is good, with some replaced stitching and a replacement piece in lieu of the strap loops on the rear. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Art Buchanan Collection. Estimate: 3,750 - 5,500
